Cool New exhaust time!

I finally managed to align my shifts, childcare, the stars and planets, and some available funds, and got my car booked back in with Will at Performance Torque in Wolverhampton to have my exhaust done.

I'm almost certain I could have had a cheaper job done at MIJ or Powerflow, but after having my DPF delete and remap done by P-Torque, the one thing that stood out head and shoulders above anyone else is his attention to detail, and I knew even before I dropped it off that I'd be pleased with the end result.

So, after being awake for a smidge over 24 hours, I finished a 12 hour night shift and drove straight down to the workshop. After a brief chat with a TVR owner who was also there for an exhaust on his Griff, Will rolled up in this beast:

We heard it before we saw it, what a car!

Anyway, at 5:30pm Will called me to say that they were still adjusting things to get the fit spot on, but they'd be working until it was done - whatever time that was. That's dedication for you! I'm back at work tonight but when I'm done in the morning I'm straight off to Wolverhampton again to pick up my newly tailed car.

Bit of a non-post, sorry - but I promise to upload pics before I go to bed!

Great job. I like the gloss black bit in the rear as well, looks spot on.

Why did I always think your E91 was blue? I was genuinely surprised then to see that colour :

Indeed, but someone has to pay for the R8.
Did you get a drive as a part stakeholder?

The new tips look good quality, but a bit too 'gangsta'.
Perhaps less so if in black?

Cheers everyone They're sooting up fast already - look quite good with the chrome outside and soot inside.

They sound (IMO) perfect. 90% of the time I can't tell they're fitted - there's no droning, no boy-racer noise. The only clue is once I hit about 2.5k rpm, then there's a lovely resonance from somewhere under the driver's seat. not even enough to record though, if I tried to get a video you wouldn't hear anything.

Glad I went with the gloss black LCI diffuser - I had no doubts at all about the quality of P-Torque's work, and I could have had quads, triples, anything I asked for really, but I knew I wanted 4" round tips and they fit perfectly in the 335 insert. Having it painted makes it easier to clean, too

The build quality is excellent. - the welds and bends are first class, and the attention to detail was amazing. Once they'd built it and fitted it they wouldn't let the car go until they'd run it up to temperature and let it cool fully again, and re-tightened all the clamps to make sure the fit was perfect.

exhausts are a little on the big side for me (although they do fit the cut-outs!), id have maybe went for 3 or 3.5" tips but i do like the 335 style (even though i've just got a stock 330D system to fit to mine)

the gloss black diffuser looks good, and something im planning to get done to mine when i get the bumper painted, mine is sparkling graphite as well, so at least i know it works!

Cheers I think the OEM tips are 3", and they look lost in that insert IMO.
