335d sedan vs. 335i coupe

My car was in the shop for maintenance, and was able to take the 335d out for a loaner. Drove the car for a little over 200 miles, highway and stop-and-go. The diesel did have the sports package, and did take full advantage of it.

335d vs. the 335i engine:

Initial take-off the 335i is definitely faster off the line, but once both cars are moving, the 335d felt almost as fast accelerating. I remember hitting the accelerator when I was doing 70 mph, then all of a sudden doing 100. Speed limit was 70 mph, and was passing someone. Also, I do like the burble of the diesel.

Gas mileage: the 335d had about 10 mpg better mileage than the 335i.

Coupe vs. Sedan: The Sedan is a little higher seating position (believe the car is slightly higher as well) and easier to get out. With that said, it feels like the center of gravity is significantly higher in the sedan than the coupe, even though the cars are almost identical. They both handle well, but the coupe feels like it is an extension of me.

Both cars are a blast to drive, and I really did like the look and torque of the diesel.

Cool. I may have to search it. I just have not seen any 335i vs. 335d threads lately, and loved the loaner.

off the line i feel like the d feels slower but if u look at the speedo not so much. its the way the gasser launches at high revs kinda slingshots u. the d is no drama just go go go!

glad you enjoyed it, keep in mind the 335d weights 3800lbs....
