Recommendation for auto fluid change/service
I read some old threads but nothing thats local to me in Dorset and most people i phone aren't interested.
Anyone had experience or know of anywhere relatively locally that does a simple fluid change? I had a quote for £550 for a full service including seals etc. Seemed steep but might be fair?! Any experience with costs would be appreciated! |

Can recommend Bromspec near Andover. Not so close to you, but will do a good job.

I shopped around and bought the genuine ZF kit on EBay (£160), but I have the 335d which has the gearbox in common with several Land Rovers so got it from a Land Rover specialist without the BMW tax. AVOID "one-stop-gearbox-shop", even though they are cheap, they kept my money for two weeks and never sent the goods, then complained when I left negative feedback !
Had the car drained and refilled at a local BMW specialist, 3 hours labour (£180), total of £340, so a fair bit less than your £550. |

Thanks everyone, i certainly won't be paying the £550.
The best option sounds like getting the kit yourself and then using one of the specialists. Will ring round a few before i take the plunge! If A1 was closer i would use them but its just too far from me. |

As far as I know Regal are pretty knowledgable about gearboxes and the like.

They don't list anything about gearboxes on their website but they're a Wavetrac LSD dealer and can install them etc, and I imagine they must have all the needed tools to reset the gearbox adaptations and stuff.
