They do seem less bright, but from seeing them from a distance driving towards me, they looked brighter than regular halogen headlights.

Surely these are not dimmer than the stock yellow?!?! They look pretty good/bright to me. The yellows were never very bright, especially at night. For what its worth, they look nice.

Hey Shinchan. I have an Idea. If you look inside where the bulbs are there is an optical tube (clear plastic) that carries the light from the H8 bulb to the angel rings. I wonder if you put a bright LED on there if it would brighten the outer ring some and the inner slightly too? I am talking about in addition to the H8 light source. Just tap into the H8 power source (shouldn't be any codes because LED draws almost no current) and tie wrap it to the tube.

What do you think? Take a look. I think it would work. I circled it in Red.

If that red circle is the optic tube your talking about, then getting light into it will probalby be hard. If you shine light into the side of it it wont work very well. If might be something to try though

MDS82 is right.. its like a fiber optic line.. u can shine it from the end... but not from the side.. same theory.... no point shinny LED on the side.. all its going to do is end up on the opposite side.. not lite up the tube...

In a week or two i am going to have to make a decision about which bulbs to buy for my e92.

Have we made a decision yet which ones look the best for both the lights and fogs?

Angel eyes----?

Fogs---?

Inside turning light bulb-----?

Shinchan--did you use MTEC bulbs for the inside turning light--the H3? Just curious if they made that in a bright white as well....

I switched mine to the Mtec super white. Looks awesome, just like HID when it lights up. 100% happy, and I'll leave them as is. Matches the Xenons perfect.

I am not 100% pleased with the angel eye color though. I used super white on that as well, but am going to try some other types. I don't understand why the color looks so different since I used same manufacturer

Maybe I'll try the Cosmos Blue. But others have said they are dimmer than stock, and I think they are too dim now with Super White. I know a higher kelvin and higher color equals lower output. So, I don't know what I'll try next.

Since these are only for the angel eyes as DRL's, why would you need a high output? I think the whiter color has to be more visible in the daytime than the stock bulb and also you really aren't illuminating anything, rather, you want other people to see you.

No, it's not that. If you don't use the Angels as DRL's, they are dimmer. It's like they are burning at 1/2 intensity. Plus the inside ring is noticably brighter. It seems the mod to Super white has made this worse. as an example in the daytime, without using them as DRL's, you can hardly tell they're on. Maybe Cosmos Blue will look better, I don't know.

If they are not used as DRL's, they would not be on in the daytime. Am I missing something here that is confusing me?

Well, not really daylight. What I mean is, with the blue bulbs that make them whiter, unless it is pitch black, they almost look like there are no angel eyes at all. I am still experimenting with different bulbs, and will find the right balance.

I guess I am just used to my E90, they were brighter, and more uniform. Although getting the yellow out was a much bigger project.

Hello, I am having some problems with my angel eyes. When my normal driving lights are not on, the angel eyes seem white as you can see in picture 1. But when I turn on my regular driving lights , the halo turn yellowish again. Did I install it wrong or something?

They are the MTEC Super Whites. Thanks for the help.

I have noticed this as well--it is not something that bugs me or anything, I just don't understand the change. You would think the brightness level would be the same as long as the eyes are "on". I love the way the Super white looks, all in all though.

Shinchan has had more than one bulb in his car though--I am not sure which bulb is in there in this picture above--but they appear to be the MTEC super whites that I have. I agree that these look brighter than mine, but it could just be the way that the camera is set. Not sure though.....

Tried installing these Nokya Artic White H8 bulbs. They are rated 35w (draw) and 55w (output). However, after installing them the lights would stay on for only a minute (long enough to snap a couple pictures) and the halos would shut off with a resulting DRL out message. I tried them twice and realized the bulbs are stamped on the base - H8 12v55w. I'm awaiting an email from the seller (on ebay), to ensure I received the right bulbs.

Oh well, I wanted to try something different. They looked great with just the parking lights on(DRLs activated.) I also observed the halos turning a slight yellow when they were on with the low beams.

They are a lot dimmer than stock and on a bright day they dont even look like they are on. The yellow colors has a pop and stands out more than the blue.
