This thread concerns the replacement of "halogen" bulbs to achieve similar color to the xenons. As stated before, E90 & E92 bulb specifications are different. I think you were quoted on upgrading the halogens to HID xenons which would be more expensive than the halogen "xenon look" bulbs. Since your post indicates that you have a sedan (E90) with active lights (xenons), what bulbs do you want to replace and what look are you trying to achieve?

Please do a search. Sedans are a whole different ball of wax. Do a search for Brex, Lux, ect. It is not a simple bulb swap for E90's. That is why this thread says E92. Not being an ass, but we should all know which car we have ![]() |

Can't wait to see--I am curious to see the difference, if any, that there is between these and the MTECs that I have.
Just curious--how much did these run you, and are you going to use them for your fogs as well? ![]()

OK, call me crazy but after thinking about it I've decided changing ou the corona bulbs is silly.
Reasons: 1) Can't distinguish the coronas from the xeons when headlights are on. 2) Not as bright. 3) The color they are stock is actually pretty sweet. Nice and subtle yet classy, the white is too "hey, look at my hedlights" Am I crazy? Thoughts?

its personalized the car to stand out from the rest of the other bimmer. Everyone has their opinion. Its like choosing color of the car... everyone has different taste. In term of brightness, i had my set as DRL. its noticeable in daytime. even for stock bulb, when xenon is on.. it dimms..

Someone, post pictures of your angle eyes in the pitch black so we can see what they look like at their brightest. Also is it possible to run DRL's at night?

turning signal is 1 bulb and 1 LED. There is almost no way to get to the LED without tear the head light apart.
The front turning bulb is PY24W. Currently, there is no replacement on internet for them.... Unless you can resolve the Yellow LED light.. otherwise, there is no point swaping out the bulb... the only thing to do is swap out the all chrome bulb to make it less yellow.. but thats pretty much you can do...

My pictures (POST#363) were in total darkness. It is VERY hard to get these pics, unless you are up close and at an angle. Once you move back out the light washes the picture out. Not a real issue though, since DRLs cannot be run with the lights on. So you can't run them at night. Unless of course you want to ride around with your lights off! |

Hey Shinchan, what if you took out the entire headlight assembly out of the car would you be able to take out the amber LED? Do you think the housing will come out without having to take off the front bumper? I hate car manufacturers, theres always a catch!!

I guess you could. There isn't much room in there though. You'd have to run the ballast and igniter out of that housing. Seems like a lot of work. |

Thats because they were aftermaket. E46 had no angels, right? I don't think the angels are shitty, and I am thankful I can mod them as easy as this. (un-like my E90 which was a PITA) I agree that this thread is way too long. Unless someone has anything groundbraeking we should limit it. |
