Angels go out and I get the dreaded error in the dash.
I just got back and I'm going to try to check wires, loose bulb and lastly remove the new and go back to stock just can't figure what the cause could be.

Hey Exec,
The steering wheel is absolutely incredible.
I would trade every Mod for it. I think everyone should do the same it's incredible.
Oh and for the Idrive knob to my surprise I had no idea but i guess the 07's come with a refreshed knob that has a kind of matte silver and black rubber around it which i find is very nice.
So thankx bud but for now i'm good.

Shinchan, Thank you for the update. I’ve been trying to keep up with all of the discussions and never saw that anyone else picked up these bulbs. I call to order the M-Tec and they were out of stock and got talked into these. Well after 5+ hours I found it is the bulbs. I put back the OEM bulbs and everything is ok. The strange thing is if you look at the images I posted, they did all work together for the initial test. The lesson learned today DO NOT USE NOKYA!

Nokya is a good bulb, ive used them before but if you look at the back it says 55w and we can ony use 35w for the angels and fogs. Wrong wattage is the problem...

I don't think it's the wattage issue. The rating is the same as the OEM. The draw is 35 output is 55. The problem I had was when the xeons came on and the angel dim. Within 2 minutes they would go out? They're working fine in the fogs. But now my fogs don't look right when the xeons are off and angels are on..... A very simple DIY job going to hell quickly!

Jeez, what a nightmare--and this was soooo easy for me, and many others. All I know is that there have been no issues at all with the MTEC super whites that are in my E92. Like Shinchan said--I would just try a different brand of bulb....

I tried those (post on page 10-#220) with the same results. Worked long enough to snap some pictures. Tried to warn others as the bulbs are stamped 55W.

Picked the GP Thunder/Mtec combo.

H8 and H11 are same socket shape... the only different between H8 and H11 is the wattage. H8 should be rated at 35w... while H11 is 55w. Nokya has some problem of stamping H11 bulb with H8 with 55w.... that is just not right....

THough.. I do i have Nokya Hyper Yellow on my other car.. they are H835w on the back... and works fine... i guess that 7000K bulb fron Nokya is wrong to begin with...

Just FYI. Almost ALL Nokya bulbs are high wattage. That is why they sell upgraded harnesses. I tried them on my motorctcycle years ago and they melted the housing! I called the place that sold them to me and they said all Nokya bulbs are high wattage, even if they don't say it. Sorry you found out the hard way. Most automotive sites that sell them will give you that info.

OK guys I took some pics... not like there aren't a billion in this thread but it's a comparo of the gp thunders to the mtec super whites (the two best choices, imo).

Pics with no flash, gp on right mtec on left (angels and fogs). Cornering lights are all mtec super white h3.

with a flash (not direct); this is indicative of their brightness in my garage.

up close:

Of the mtec super white/gp thunder/cosmos blue (didn't take pics, don't like them), the gp thunders are by far the brightest. The way I am leaving it for now is gp thunders as angels and mtec super white as fogs. The super whites just aren't bright enough as angels. The gp thunder do have a blue/purple tint especially from the side (which is why I included the side shot), but it looks good in person.

Picus, great shots of the different bulbs.

Love this shot... just the color of the SG, the black grill and Roundel -- looks amazing!

Thanks man. I put the grille on today too, I like it. Now I just have to paint the lower mesh.

Damn that plate; imagine how much better it'd look without it!

picus...thanks for the pics. Which ones are you running fulltime? I personally prefer the GPs.

also, are your kidney grills from Trendix? I cant get them to reply to my PMs. Just wondering if they are legit.

GP thunder as angels and MTEC super white as fogs full time.

Yep, Trendix grilles; they are just regular painted grilles, same as all matte black grilles, install was straightforward; they arrived in about 4 days. So ya, definitely legit in my experience, but a little slow with communication (same issue you're having).
