my bad, for some reason i thought u were talking about the angel lights. i used a normal monkey wrench, not a hex wrench. the hex wrench is prob a lot easier. it took me a long time with the monkey wrench, but it got the job done.

Got my GP installed last night. Looks way better than stock, but like others have mentioned, not as bright. It also matches the stock xenon really well. Now I just need a pair a mtec H3 for the cornering and mtec H8 for fogs and I'll be done.

Hey guys, I'm new to this thread too and I've only read pages 1-3 and 13-16... and I DON'T WANT TO READ ANYMORE!!! =*( --thats 175posts!
From what I've gathered, a lot of you are doing combos of the MTECs and GP Thunders... my question is, why don't you just use one type of bulb for both the angel eyes and the fog lights/ Don't you want the colors to match? I personally want strictly white angel eyes and foglights (NO purple/blue)... would getting MTEC Superwhite H8 bulbs for the angel eyes AND foglights be so bad? Anyone else do this? |

Haha your post is funny... It's a hit and miss thing as far and matching goes...and usually if you stay with the same bulb making and the same kelvin temperature rating, you'd be pretty close with the matching...good luck

I went with Mtec on the fogs and cornering because they matched. GP's looked a little too Blue for the fogs and cornering IMO. They all match up perfect now, as the Angels burn at a lower intensity, they look good a with a little whiter / blue. The Mtec's were not white enough on the Angels for me. Still had some yellow in them. On the fogs and cornering they looked awesome. |

I've got some of those coming for my fogs too, along with GP for angel eyes, and Mtec Super Whites for the cornering. You already install the nokyas on your fogs for your e92? If ya do I'd like to seem em if ya don't mind, I work in DC and live in Fairfax.

Here are some pics of my new lightning setup
angeleyes = GP 8500k fogs = nokya 2500k corners = mtec super white hid = stock This first one is of the angeleye with the GP 8500k. Note the purple and pink, its hard to see in the other pics, but those hues really show through! ![]() The next one is of the nokya 2500k installed into the angeleyes for the hell of it. IRL the nokyas are much brighter then the GPs and are heavily yellow (almost orange) in the angeleyes. ![]() The finished product with the GPs in the Angel eyes and the nokyas as the fogs ![]() Shot from front of car to show better detail, note the nokyas are actually alot brighter and yellower then in the pictures ![]() Another face shot, this depicts the color a little better ![]() Lastly a long exposure with the e92 and the e90 side by side ![]() The nokyas are so fricken bright and yellow, while I was crusing with my woman, she noticed how every light shaded car, every sign basically turns yellow, or yellowish. It improves visibility DRAMATICALLY even in non inclement weather, but seeing as how it lights up everything so much, I wonder if it will bother other drivers. The pictures were taken with a Canon 20D using a Sigma 24-70mm lense and a Canon 10-20mm lense if anyone cares. |
