BMW mechanic in Annapolis
So it looks like I am going to buy a 335i from Annapolis. I'd like to get a PPI done, but was wondering if any of you mid-atlantic folks could recommend a good BMW mech in Annapolis. The dealer has agreed to drive it to a shop of my choosing, but I'd like it to be in or as close as possible to Annapolis
Also, I could send it to BMW of Annapolis. Does anyone have any experience with them? I am a little suspect of dealerships after a bad experience and tend to trust indies more, but would be ok with sending it to a well-regarded dealer. Thanks in advance from Texas. |

I doubt the stealership will be ok with you driving the car to the dc area for an inspection, but if they are cool with it, and dealership will be happy to do it. Be sure to drive the car so you don't get shortchanged.

The car isn't at BMW of Annapolis. I'm buying it from the Porsche dealership and thinking about getting the PPI from BMW of Annapolis. I phrased that poorly in my original post. |

i take my CPO to bmw of annapolis all of the time. its a smaller dealership imo but their service has been solid so far.
that being said, when i take my car in for warranty work, they seem to do a thorough job making sure the current issue is gone before giving my car back. |

It seems like they have a pretty good reputation, from what I've read here and elsewhere, so it seems easiest to just send it to them. |

I'd like to caution you from buying a car from a non BMW dealership. When i got my cpo 335i, i read that the cars found at other dealerships can be either trade in or bought at auction. If it's an auction car, there's a chance the car failed BMW inspection (accident, engine troubles, etc.). Get the carfax on it. Maybe you could have one of us go and check the car out for you. I'd hate for you to pick up a lemon.

The car is there right now and the SA, Chris, has been great so far. I should find out tomorrow the results of the PPI. They said they use the CPO checklist to do the PPI and will bring up any thing that comes up from that. I'm going to ask him to specifically bring up anything that would prevent it from being CPO'd by BMW. So hopefully, I'll have a car that they would have approved for CPO if it had come to a BMW dealership rather than a Porsche dealership. |

We're heading through the blue ridge and smoky mountains on the way back to Dallas, so it should be a really fun getaway. Thanks everyone. |

Skyline Drive is a must. If you can make it though NC, find the Tail of the Dragon... epic drive.
On a side note, I just got into Texas. I totally could have driven your car home for you. . Last edited by utfenix335i; 09-16-2011 at 10:15 AM.. |

I didnt like there service at all. I bought my car there and got a great deal on it. Took it in for service due to my trans slipping and they told me it was because of a bent wheel and my tire being worn down was causing the issue . Took it to Towson and they told me it was a a cracked trans cooler. Took a while but all better now.
I wouldnt recommend Annapolis at all. I recommend Towson Bmw all day long |
