50 shot is a pretty big jump in power using a .31 and higher jet I think. You would need to be careful as these levels are asking for trouble if not monitored right. Also this large of a shot is not a daily usage like my setup in which one flip of a button and I have 25 extra at my disposal. I honestly think that my setup will become more appealing to daily drivers that don't drag their cars and want to spray nitrous safely

Some renegade just sent Terry a log of his nitrous run using a .46 jet! I stand corrected and this is the largest jet so far used with a N54! DAMN that must be fast as hell and also dangerous as hell for a major engine failure...That close to 100 shot and running 18 psi....That is insane in the membrane! Was that you Hotrod?

.15 jet that I am running at 16.5 psi with timing throughout the run at 10 and steady and a/f 12.2~ and a bit richer, that I am well within the safety parameters IMO of what this engine can safely handle with nitrous. Your car must have been hailin ass thats for sure. It was strange though that your car ran lean at 20.1 for that split second but could you could have max out the 20 psi of stock turbos limits when you accidentally set it to target 22psi and induce some slight throttle closure? I guess at that point you must of been at peak HP and psi and the meth was not enough to compensate for the extra oxygen if indeed there was no throttle closure. Are you running 2 CM10 nozzles? With a .46 jet I thought you would have beaten your record of 11.33.. Last edited by cn555ic; 10-29-2011 at 08:55 AM.. |

What kind of nitrous setup you looking to do. Small shot or you going big? You should also invest in a bottle heater and remote bottle opener and a purge kit because it makes things really user friendly when you have that sudden urge to use the bottle and it's at a flick of buttons within the cabin area and your ready to go. Probably over the top nitrous set for a car spraying such a small shot (lol) but the way I look at it is, if I am doing it might as well do it to its fullest! Well I am going to do a pressure reg bottle heater...I have used nitrous before. Bottle pressure makes a HUGE difference.
purge kit...I always made do without one. The remote bottle opener, while convenient, would give me that much more temptation to always hit it!!!! Maybe i'll add one in the future. I got a couple jets, .18, .26 and .34 Gonna start with the .18 (I am going to try and be somewhat conservative, and I have the JB4, so it will integrate similar to Hotrods set-up) |

Just ordered a digital window switch from NX Express as I didn't feel comfortable spraying through a shift so this will prevent it from ever happening. Module cost $173 bucks Looks to be a cheap item to manufacture, and the profit ratio on this unit IMO is at least 100x but I need it so I have to pay the piper! I will Set the window of 3000 rpm to activate and set the nitrous window to deactivate at 6300 rpms, which should under the rpms of the gear changes in DS mode if I choose to let the car change gears on its own. This module should be pretty easy to install. Sucks that I have to pay for all these fail safes when Shiv promised he would have it for Procede users That never came about. Bummer

Here is a much better priced RPM switch in a rugged casing. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-830452/?rtype=1
And another unit that include a RPM switch and pulses the nitrous solenoid at activation to reduce the shock load at activation. http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store...?idproduct=216 Last edited by R1000K3; 10-30-2011 at 09:55 PM.. |

I tapped the rpm signal from pin 21 (rpm signal wire) of the PNP harnass and ran it through to the cabin...All I have to do is hook the ground trigger wire to the ground of the nitrous relay, the rpm wire and the ground for the digital window switch..I only have one wire left which is the red wire for power and I have question.... once the setting is set on the digital window switch, can I hook it up to a on/off switch and will the settings be saved onto the chip? I dont want to run the digital window switch everytime I start the car because the instruction says red wire to 12+....I rather hook it up on my system arming switch which gives it power..Thanks if anyone can answer this question. The unit I am using is the NX digital window switch

I called up NX this morning and the settings are hard saved into the module and it doesnt need constant power to have settings to be set again upon giving it power! Nice. I already wired in the switch wire and basically have four wires in the glove box waiting for the window switch to be delivered and then just pop it in!

Anyway.....So basically my setup is all control by the ground wire to the nitrous relay...the microswitch, my "go fast button" both have to be pressed and then its up to the digital window switch to give the ground to that wire which is in series with the microswitch and my "go fast" button....WHen rpms are at its trigger point the window switch triggers the ground and then the nitrous will spray its joyful mist into the intake manifold, and you will get some When the rpms reach the set max rpm, the window switcher takes the ground away and nitrous stops immediately...Pretty simple The only reason why I would not do a larger jet is that I dont have lean run cutoff and the likihood of this happening with a smaller jet is less Last edited by cn555ic; 11-01-2011 at 08:36 PM.. |
