Bye Bye E92 Coupe.. Hello E91 Tourer!
So then I thought it was about time to post a few pictures of my car,
I used to have an e92 pre lci coupe, which I loved! I did a few bits to it including spacers, painting the wheels, Hydro dipping the grille and steering wheel trim, Tints all round, No nav - CIC professional conversion Added logic 7 tweeters, 64w h8 halos, M3 lip spoiler, E-maps remap And plenty of coding! Here she sits how I sold her! Reason for sale was I was on the lookout for a tourer, wanted something bigger and up near me there are lots and lots of saloons so I thought the tourer was the better option, it took 9 weeks of searching day in day out to find the right spec! Then a peach turned up! LCI E91 in Alpine White, Sport plus edition, 61 plate, Full BMW service history Immaculate inside and out! Only one problem, I'm up north and the car was at Heathrow.. After a few conversations with the salesman I booked a train ticket and he agreed to pick me up from the station. Got down there did the deal and back I came happy as Larry, it had options I didn't even know about until I drove it back, I knew it had heated leathers and xenons (these two options were a must) but I didn't know it had combox and adaptive xenons! So when I got back I realised it was even better than I thought, spec list as follows; Sport plus extras ( anthracite wheels, tints, chrome grill, blue stitched seats, blue stitched floormats, anthracite diffuser and exhaust) Adaptive xenon headlights with high beam assist Business nav with USB, aux and combox for Bluetooth music Heated black leather seats Bmw assist So anyway, it didn't take long for me to start making plans for the car, the same day in fact! I fit my 64w LED's from my old car, they don't picture well off my phone but they are true white and not as glaring as the picture.. So I rubbed down the slats of the grille to remove the chrome and wrapped the outer gloss black, at the same time fit my private plate I then debadged the rear and buffed the marks away The car had a scratched rear window when I bought it so the salesman agreed to pay fit a new one so I removed it and for the new.. The car then went to a well known local tinting company for all the windows to go a bit darker 15mm hubcentric spacers were fit to the rears to give a wider track A couple of pictures to show how it then sat for a few weeks.. I then swapped the business nav for a professional setup, After this I bought a DTUK CRD2 tuning box, bothe the fuel rail and boost version, I'm quite impressed with it in comparison to a remap if I'm honest! Then I ordered some carbon front splitters in alpine white to give the front end abit more aggression, here they are trial fitted One on to show comparison Both on And a sideways angle And that's where I'm upto so far! Next plans are to do some coding on the car and possibly upgrade the sound system I just need to look into gains for the amount spent! Maybe lower it I just need to see an LCI on eibachs to make my mind up! Possible performance diffuser with twin tail pipes Chris. Last edited by Shorty1608; 11-01-2015 at 05:11 AM.. |

Guess what is a British thing buddy??
Hi Wayne, yeah took me a while to get the spec I wanted, seen a few like this but they never have the xenons, totally worth it though the adaptive is good when driving through lanes etc |

E91. I don't think they even sell them here unless it's special order. We just go suv. They legislated the station wagon, or estate as they say in england, effectively in the 70s with the gas crisis. The idea was to get people into more gas efficient cars. Instead, the automakers made suvs and minivans as they're considered trucks and not cars by the rules so we went that way. Now we buy a minivan or suv for her and a Sportscar for him. I don't think I've ever seen an E91 in real life. I'm pretty happy with the US system now. Either a dedicated fun car or one that offers Uber capabilities for towing, cargo, offroad, number of people, etc. Mileage is less, about half in a full size suv, but your taxes make gas 4 times more costly, so in the US it would be like you having an escalade or range rover but one that gets 60 mpg.

Very nice E91, nice and clean. I saw it as the most recent post for the Regional section... this should go in the Photo Gallery section. Gotta share that bad boy.

Gas is $1.95 a gallon here. Obama purposefully got it to $4 but that got our frackers producing, posed off the saudis, so they ramped up production to put the frackers out of biz. Enjoy the low prices while you can, or at least until we get a conservative white house.

Lookig very nice. I still don't understand why someone would get leather but not heated seats. I know leather wa standard on the plus version but heated should have been added.
When I was looking for my E91 I looked at the plus models but most are standard wth no options. Then looked at their prices and not miles off from a 330d. After all that I got a 335i instead! |

Mate that is awesome, would've loved a tourer but my budget wouldn't stretch,so bought a low mileage 325i m sport saloon. In time I think I may purchase a tourer as will need the space when our 1 month old son gets bigger, plus really like the look x

Nice car, I have a AW LCI E90 so very similar
Did you say you have fitted 15mm spacers? I tried 15mm but they were too aggressive & the wheels were poking out too far |

Thanks mate! I nearly got an e90 in alpine white until I decided on a tourer! Yes 15mm on this, I had 12mm on my e92 but 15mm on my tourer, they are fine, it gives a slight scrub on one bump on my way to work it's a big hump and only when I hit it at 80 other than that it's fine, never on any speed bumps or pot holes and trust me round my end there's a lot ! and they don't stick out the arches. Here are some pics from about a month ago mate to show you |

Don't understand why my 15mm spacers made the wheels stick out too far, what tyres have you got on the rear??
Your rear wheels are exactly how I want mine to look |
