No rear wiper on e92?? - Techniques anybody?
Just collected my car on wednesday....i'll be posting pics etc later.
I noticed that it doesn't have a rear windscreen wiper, obviously this is due to the design of the car, but I was wondering if any of you guys had any techniques of keeping them as clear as possible...other than the obvious cleaning them. How do you clear rain away or do you just wait for it all to blow off in the wind? Any tips would be greatful!

What kind of techniques are you looking for? There really isnt anything you can do to the outside of your car when you sit inside it.

For example, does putting the rear heated windscreen help dry rain away faster, or is that rain repelling spray any good - Those types of techniques.

Wow, just when you think you've heard every possible 'problem' posted!
Short of welding a wiper mechanism to the roof, I'd go for the RainX. I use it on my front windows and rarely use the wipers! |

Yup, E91
I've never been awfully successful with Rain-X on rear windscreens. Strictly speaking they are coupes since they have rear seats. Porsche 911s have had optional rear wipers since antiquity.

I don't think the slope/design of the rear screen warrants a wiper...
I'd go with the excellent suggestions posted such as rain-x, aqual repel etc. I've heard applying zaino on your glass works as well. My other suggestion is to give your rear screen a good wipe at every fill up...

Oh yeah, Rainx is sweet, I polish the rear glass with Zaino's Glass polish and apply a few coats of rainx. This is the cheapest solution and it wears well as there is nothing rubbing on the rear window.

Drive really fast.
Advanced: Do a lot of high velocity, controlled power slides in the rain to mimic the effect of rain being cleared from one side to the other by a traditional wiper. Or you can use Rain-X (chump's way out, but I use it, so what can I say?) Last coupe I had (91 Stealth ES) had a rear wiper, but the wiper did not do any favors in the looks dept. I like the wiper-less E92...

Weird. When I reach 88mph I end up in back in 1955 for some strange reason.
