E90 335d buying advice...?
Hello all
I'm looking to buy a 335d - i'm not a fan of the LCI so would be looking for an older car. It must be a saloon and not an E91/2/3 and i want the m-sport bumpers and steering wheel. Is there a higher interior spec. than the m-sport? I'm unsure about interiors but would want the best set up i could find. I would prefer leather seats, either black or red, but the rest i'm not sure about. What are any common faults to look for and if present should make me walk away? I'm willing to wait for the right car but would like to start looking now. There's plenty on eBay, with varying prices, but with this being my first BMW i'm not sure which ones are best avoided. Cheers Kevin |

M Sport is the best spec on the E90 generation. From when I've looked , I'd say most opted for leather and black is popular. Don't remember noting as many coral reds on saloon.
Heated and electric seats are nice options if that helps improve your interior. On my coupe I had individual piano black trim, that went great with the black leather so what trim you have is something to consider. |

I had a coupe , standard spec includes 3 must haves , at least for me,
Electric front seats , folding rear seats , Xenons . Not sure if saloons have these as standard in which case I'd try hard to get. |

If your going to buy one you may as well have one with all the useful extras, why wouldn't you?

Does anyone know if any of the radios have a memory stick feature? What about bluetooth etc? Also, what is the cost for Road Tax for a 335d - i looked on Parkers and it said ~£270 a year. |

People drive diesels because they are more interested in saving a few pence per mile (at the cost of people's health) than performance & yes there are some quick diesels about but the equivalent petrol will always be better

at what? when rolling a 3.d derv will out torque the the same 3.0 petrol car..it horses for courses..but off the mark the petrol will be quicker,,but in everyday driving, like rolling is more prevelant.unless you go looking for traffic light drag starts,,i prefer dervs for there torque, extra mpg is a bonus.

I tried 640i & 640d and much preferred the power delivery of the 640d. I'm doing a road trip to Paris in a couple weeks and i had to get their emissions sticker to drive in Paris. My car falls into banding 2. (1 being best, 5 being worst). Quite surprised by that actually but my EURO5 straight 6 turbo diesel is certainly not as pollutant as i first thought - even by strict french emission laws. |

Piano black was lovely, aluminium is awful and seeing it in so many cars, it did make me hesitate about the E92. Bluetooth should be on all, look at the below example (might be of interest to you, tho it has aluminium trim) and on side view you'll see a fin for B/T that's a clue. Not sure about USB on all E90s, that's something to check. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...r-auto/7567516 For Carly, you need an adapter and then you buy the app for Android/IOS (there's a free version to run tests before committing). I believe even with the bought app, there are certain elements you'll incur an additional cost to add on. So best check out website first. http://www.mycarly.com/product/bmw-app/ I'm very doubtful split folding rear seats were standard. There's no mention of them on the example car's build sheet. No mention of a USB option either Car tax 280£ for this car. Last edited by smuler; 08-09-2017 at 11:30 AM.. |
