Only got the car for 3 days, wife already rubbed the wheel against the curb
My wife called me this afternoon and asked me to come to the garage to check out the front passenger side wheel and said she ran it against the curve on her way back home.
OMG! This is only the 3rd day! I do not whether I should be angry or not! We purchased the tire/wheel insurance and I am wondering is it covered? I was too upset to take pictures....... Kevin Delivered 4/4/2006, 330i Alpine White/Black |

Since this is the leased car, I do not wish to spend money on new wheels. In addition, I kind of like the look of the OEM 18" sport package wheels.
I believe I will get over with it. She did the same thing to almost all 4 of the 18" AMG wheels on our past CLK430. LOL! |

Dude, you let your wife drive it?
I say that now, but when mine gets delivered in May, we'll see how long it takes before my wife gets behind the wheel!

Whee/Tire insurace doesn't cover small curve scratches... they do cover curve scratches but they have to be a big amount that air will leak through the curve scratch. I already asked my SA and contacted the insurance company... You could bent ur rim or break it with a hammer and take it to the dealer or you could just fix it urself =]...
Btw curve scratches are really normal to happen =] also the insurance always make you pay first and then they mail you back a check... |

Anyhow, you will be surprise how wonderful a shop shop can polish the wheels for you. The issue is, you might need to polish all four to form the same 'shining ring'. Try to polish one first and see the result. The good side of these kinds of incident is, the wife will never srcatch the wheels again. The second time was by myself.

yeah there are definitely some very reasonably priced repairs you can do to fix the scratches. not a huge deal but damn... I am never letting my woman drive my car. They just don't care enough...

My wife did the same thing and it seem to not bother her as much as it did me. I wish that for once she could understand my frustration. I should let her drive the care again and just be a passenger.

Its ok....its only the wheel. Hopefully its not too bad. It took me 6 months to curb a wheel, but its hardly noticible.

I'd handcuff her in the basement for a spell while tickling her with a feather.....

I live in a cul de sac, so whenever I park outside, I always have to be mindful of the curvy-curb. Unfortunately, with the number of dings in my rims, I'm doing a pretty bad job...

Very easy to suffer curb rash here in NYC..No parking lots all curbside metered parking. No matter how careful we are in tight spots with big curbs its bound to happen. I am not paying $150 per wheel to fix the prob. I would consider a simple quick DIY touch up if one existed....Better to suffer curb rash than the crabs i've always said...
