Did something stupid...
Yesterday I had to jack up my e90 to do a coolant flush. The jack stands were adjusted to its highest position so it's easier for me to work on. After I'm done working, I jacked the car up higher by its front central jack point so I could lower the stands. After the stands were adjusted, I lowered the car, but the jack dropped so quickly that the car slammed right on the jack stands (and it dropped from about 6 inches above the stands). Also clarifying that it was the side jack points that slammed on to the stands, not anywhere else that is not meant to take pressure. I don't know if that caused any damage to the frame... In addition, the metal central jack point is bent, does anyone know where i can get that part?

Part #5:
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/par...&q=31116768714 Make sure that part is correct for your VIN. I bet a breakers or eBay will be best - a used one shouldn't be expensive. |

Nope. I'd say your car will drive 100% fine as it is. The jacking point on mine is damaged too. Obviously I haven't seen the damage on yours, so I could be wrong.

Where exactly is it bent?

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

The only visible damage would be the plastic jack point being a little misshapen, but I know I can get that replaced. The thing that worries me is if the metal structure is going to be fine.

It is bent right on the rectangular metal part (front central jack point). I believe when I was jacking the car up, the jack wasn't exactly centered which causes it to bend...

Now, what do the plastic lifting blocks (on the side valence panels) look like? I'd bet the walls crushed a bit dropping the car down onto the lowered stands. The lift blocks are replacable. |
