same set of wheels
Remmib, I have the same set 194M wheels (8"/8,5") (and car has same colour as yours, only E91); and Conti CVC5 225/45-17 all around. Was trying to find 255 but no need after all like your picture show.
I have 12mm spacers rear, which is OK and like you say that 15mm spacer fits also fine, even better. |

17x8 on the left .................................................. ..................................17x8.5 on the right.

Your winter setup looks good. I have some basic 5 spoke wheel 17x7.5 et 38 with 225/45 now that´s very tucked. Looks weird.Probably going to find something else to next winter.

Thanks for all for your advice and pictures of winter tyres I ordered four 225/45 R17 Continentals TS 850. With V speed index it may be dry and I am going to drive about 800km through the Autobahns in a few weeks. |

Thanks for posting and updating! I've been wondering about this also. I have 17x8 and 17x8.5 style 286 wheels that I want to put the same size winter tires on. There's no difference in handling with the wider wheels up front?

There's no wider wheels up front, the 17x8.5 was in the rear.

Long time since I sold this e90. And looking at those pics, I should really have gone with 12 or 15mm spacers. Without any spacers, the rear wheels really looks sunken in when the car is lowered.

On the other side if I put on the 225 on the rear I hope it would not look too funny.... The spacers don`t impact on the DTC? |

I assume the choice in snow tires are much better in 225/45/17 than 255/40/17 where you live too. The dtc shouldn't interfere with the spacers.

I know you mentioned you sold your Montego e90 a while back but this is the exact set I want to run. My concern is the XDrive. Because of that would this same size tire all around work with XDrive? Or should I follow the factory recommended tire size? I’m really looking for the meaty tire look on the 194s , Any input would be helpful, thanks. I’m relatively new to the e90 world so I feel I can take away a lot from your knowledge. Just in case my number is (682)551-7053 if you rather text. This is one of a few questions. Thanks fellow e90 owners for your feedback! |

That’s what I meant. The “Beefier” look is exactly what I’m going for. Ok I see. Run 245/45 /17 all around correct? Despite being staggered (17x8 & 17/8.5) the .5 shouldn’t matter much?

Dope, thanks man! I figured but wanted to be sure. I feel that “meatier” look works well concave wheels. I hope it likes decent with the flat face of the 194s. I appreciate the input!
