The most popular school of thought is that these should disappear on the 2nd or 3rd oil change I spent lots of time washing the block before building but some of it could be left over from machining and some could be some wearing in, it really shouldn't do much of this with a modern build and modern oils Having said that, the running in process with running in oil is designed to "seat" the rings into the bores, which I'd have to assume means that some metal will be lost from rings or bores, we're not talking lots here though time will tell I guess, I'll run this oil for around 2k km and dump it and check it again, might pull the filter and cut it open at 1k km for peace of mind, if there's an issue the amount of metal will increase not decrease |

Howdy Ladies and Gents, sorry been quite a while, changed jobs and it's been keeping me a bit busy.
Also not too much to report, engine has a out 2,500 ks on it now. Changed the oil again last weekend, really happy to report that there were no little shiny flecks, so at least it isn't eating itself Will now get back onto Tim and start the E40 tune, been watching Socks helix install, would like to head that way as well to ensure enough fuel flow Also going to start collecting parts for a low mount single, Tim tells me my Turbo's are the limiting factor, so a single is where I need to go if I want to get the most out of the built engine it is a little noisy with the forged pistons and the additional clearance, but is very smooth and pulls hard I'll give some updates as soon as I do the E40 tune |

I can recommend the Helix now that they have the billet Vac pump plate and mounting bracket.... have run on the new set up for about 2500 km No issues, just need to get the hard hp fuel line in and will ask Tim to do version 2 of the flex fuel tune |

Hi Gents,
Been pretty quiet, just driving it and enjoying it It's been running really well for a while now, hang on while I touch some wood It got another oil change last weekend, glad to report no shiny bits in the oil Engine now has around 12k on it since the rebuild, so I'm feeling reasonably comfortable that I didn't screw it up I do need to update this thread, since the engine rebuild it's had quite a few things done Precision racing coils Cat back empire performance exhaust KW V3 coilovers Simmons wheels New Android head unit M3 control arms front and rear oh and I refurbed the headlights last week with a kit, just the sandpaper and UV protection spray but they look much better than they did running 98 these days since the supply of E85 has dried up in the ACT which is frustrating it really needs an LSD so that's on my list lockdown here in the ACT like the rest of the south east coast, so pretty quiet at the moment |

Hi Coupes,
Was working on an E40 tune that Tim had going pretty well, but since the servo near me has stopped selling E85 and as far as I can tell, it's no longer sold in the ACT I've given up on the E85 dream Oh well, saves me shelling out for the Helix, I don't need it running 98 |

Track Day - need better brakes
So I finally took the e92 to a track day, worked out that I really need some lessons and that I also need to do some work on the brakes
So that has lead to this Set of DBA Sport Rotors Set of Ferodo 2500 Pads SS braided brake lines Full brake fluid flush and replacement with DOT 4 |
