if i had more money, i would have sprang for the 330, but since i dont, the 325 is perfect. The only thing i would change about my car is the headlights. I wanted angel eyes but i would have had to build my car from scratch (couldnt wait...).

Oh, ok. Yeah, I love my car. It's the first car I ever built that has been made to my exact specifications. Would I have gotten a 330i? Sure, I would have liked to get the more expensive model, but like I explained in other old posts, I set my limit to a "near-luxury" car, which would be under $40,000. My 325i came to about $39,600 when all was said and done, so I'm completely satisfied because I got more or less all the options I could have ever wanted: HIDs, Navi, Leather, Heated/Power seats, fold down rear seats, logic 7, and auto trans. According to cars.com. any car over $40,000 is considered a luxury car, and to get all the options I have on my 325i, the price of the 330 would have skyrocketed to around $50,000. That's a little too high. I just graduated from college, so a near-luxury car is good enough for me!
I didn't get any packages, though. I heard the ride was a lot rougher and stiffer with the sport package, which is the main reason I didn't get it. Though I did like the seats and steering wheel, ride quality was more important to me. I got pretty much every option in the premium package separately, except for the rear view mirror compass and the some of the added features like active cruise control and garage door features (not sure if they were included in prem. package, but I didn't feel I needed them.) Finally, the winter package...I got the fold down seats and xenon lights, just not the sprayers. I think this is a bit overkill, and just something extra to go wrong. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my decisions. My old car was as basic as possible--no power locks, windows, seats, etc. So just the fact that I was able to get my 325i exactly the way I wanted...it just makes me feel like it's mine even more (of course, it belongs to the bank, until I have the thing paid off, that is. he he ) |

i would opt fot professional version of idrive with map display etc, xennon, comfort access, 18" wheels and a few ot
er bits & pieces, but the government taxes are very high so a sensible approach must prevail. not complaining in any way. 25.5 hrs to go till i arrive at the dealers to sign the papers, swipe the credit cards, say goodbye to my wonderful 323i e46 and say hello to my new 325i e90 with all the options perfect for me.

I'm quite happy with my car :
330i Steptronic, SG/Black Leather/Walnut, SP, PP, split fold down rear seats Cost at this price point wasn't a major concern for me so I basically got exactly what I wanted. My only potential regret is that I didn't test drive an active steering car. The more I read about it the more I think I might like AS. Not a big deal though; the standard steering rocks. - Collin |

I also would have sprung for the 330i.. but i had a set price in mind and I had my car made to my specifications. I do however wish I would have gotten the sport package for my 325.

I love my car, it was the right car at the right time. I bought mine off the lot with almost everything I wanted, but of course if I had ordered, I would have gotten a few more things.
I'll have to order my specs when the 335 or M comes out.

If I were able to make my decision again, I think I would have spent less money and bought a Golf GTI or perhaps a Golft 2.0 TDI.
The BMW is a wonderful car, but good cars are available for far less money. Here in Australia the 320i costs nearly twice as much as the two abovementioned VW's - yet the Beemer isn't nearly twice as good or justification for the added expendature. Anyway, that's life. |
