Went out to the gym on my lunch break in Chantilly at noon and 50 was already a parking lot. Took me 40 minutes to get back to the office and the trek is roughly 2 miles. Absolutely unbelievable.

i learnt something new today
when you drive a rear wheel drive car in reverse it becomes a front wheel drive car i could not go up a slope driving forward so i spun the car around and went up driving in reverse i did get some stares from people driving by me so much for winter tires |

This is the first year that I don't have a FWD or AWD to serve as a winter beater. Given the year-round duty the RWD would now have, I purchased some Sottozero's and cannot overstate how great an investment they've been based on today alone.

I had to drive to Manassas from Sterling around 1000 to pick up some food for my Holiday Party at work...28 was a zoo...not too bad going down to Manassas, but some yahoo in his pickup thought I was accelerating too slowly for his tastes so he went around me...didn't get too far...I was on his bumper and saw that he was slipping and sliding, as well.
I had to quickly upshift into second or third gear and take my time because my snows would spin at the slightest push of the accelerator...time for new snows... On the way back up 28, there were four accidents and cars strewn all over the breakdown lanes with State troopers everywhere posting their flares. It looked like a parking lot. The effect of the standing cars was the packed snow melted and refroze into ice...niiiiice.... Some idiots should never venture out in inclement weather...

It was hell yesterday, But i some how made it from Fort Belvoir to Woodbridge, I left at 12:30 got home at 2:25. My biggest obstacle was getting off post, about 1 hour. I get home and I see my new DWS tires rest against the garage door. Oh well, I'll mount those puppies this weekend. Summer tires FTW!

Funniest part was a accident I handled w/ the girl driving into a house. House was built in the 1700's w/ an all stone foundation. Didn't budge an inch, but the VW Jetta crumpled the roof line. Right thru the sun roof. She blamed it on black ice. That was at 11 am. w/ no ice to be found. Cost her a signature, and Daddy paying for the tow. No one was hurt. That was the last one of 4 yesterday. So much for Md snow drivers.

Yeah ... That's what they're saying. Foots forecast all along has been saying this could be a good one. My mom lives in southern maryland and apparently it's been snowing down there since early evening.
