Ummm, not to sound snotty... but this Haines park place... isnt that in/near a bad part of DC?
It looks waaaaay too close to Anacostia for my liking.

Point taken, wouldn't go walking around alone there at night, but in the day its doable...picture-snapping tourists and tourist buses galore
Like I said, it was just a suggestion...happy to check it out for you guys

Shimshimhada: Lot looks good, whereabouts? Looking at the last meet, I saw that the crew did a drive by/thru at a local Audi dealer. For this meet, I elect we go stir up trouble at a Lexus dealer in light of recent Lexus attacks on e90s (re. hotsand5 and baller325)

Good recon KL.
I dont think the location is bad, considering its a park and we will be gone before its dark enough for you to worry about being shot. I think the lack of BBQ pits is a bigger concern, unless you guys want to have a delivery guy deliver 30 pizzas out to a park..... :P

Thanks Poldim, the place really isn't bad or shady, there is a golf course and a restaurant on the park/peninsula. It is also home to the admin office (park management).
Being a recent transplant to the area I wasn't aware of the spot until recently when one of our limo drivers took us (and guests) around the spot during a little after dinner city tour (I work for a diplomatic mission and sometimes have to assist in babysitting visitors)

His name is Hans and he treats me oh so good. Yeah, the last time Audi cussed me out was being I had complained to his manager because he had told me my car was ready when it wasnt. I had gone up there to get the car and got off work early to do so and he wasnt there and the car was not ready. So to verify I had his manager listen to the voicemail the SA had left me telling me it was ready that afternoon for pick up... When I called the next morning to find out what was going on the SA cussed me out and hung up on me.... yay, for Audi!

Donny, Im with you. I havent been in the area long enough to know parks and all that well... Im up for any particular location at this point... I set this beast in motion, and now is my busiest time of the year... So. Here it is... meet at Tysons II and cover up the license plates quickly (so the mall security isnt writing down tags again... It helps that my license plate has changed since last time ) Snap a few quick pics... Roll out to the point. Meet up around noon at the point. Head over to GW Parkway (beautiful drive, but not too twisty), then maybe some twisties back in the Great Falls area like last time... We should get these plans set in stone now... just make a decision and go with it... |

Ladies and germs - picked up the baby this evening. I'm in, see you at Tyson's on Sun. I'm off to sit in the car to suck up the new car smell - who the hell knows, may even sleep in it tonight! AMF...........

So keeping with this, let's agree on a restaurant, driving route and final rendezvous point (starbucks somewhere)... What's a good place to eat around Tysons with ample parking?? Hope we can hammer out the details soon so I can start my PM blitz, as mentioned I have noted a few more local e90post members that have not been invited/informed/approached yet...
