Are you using 10.6 with legit software? Little snitch isn't needed for most legitimate software that one purchases. If on the other hand you are using pirated software, then you take your risks being one of the first to upgrade to a new OS.

I took the opportunity to erase my hard drive and start fresh, when I installed 10.6. It is easier to just pop the disk in and hit upgrade, but a couple of my buddies did that and they are experiencing little issues here and there now. My recommendation is to do a time machine backup, then erase your HD, then install 10.6. You will have to reinstall your apps though too, which is a bit of a bummer. The result is worth it though.

you can either upgrade or do a fresh install, im debating on which one to do myself. i will do a backup first and probably start fresh even though the system is less than 2 months old.

works fine for me, but i did clean install. i would never do in-place OS upgrades.
the only problems i have notices so far, is iTunes falling on its face, every time you do something that involves folders. Adding a folder to the library, changing iTunes library location folder..... LittleSnitch and bunch of other apps MUST be upgraded to work with SL. You can't just upgrade the OS and hope that everything will work Go here, before upgrading http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/start New gamma... I kinda like it. Oh, and i can't use 64-bit kernel because my E-MU 0404 kernel extension is only available in 32-bit. But i'm pretty surprised by Apple's decision to re-invent the wheel, concerning the disk space/ file size math. That shit is fucking retarded

Lol mine was $50 for the family pack.. It shut downs so much faster now. My colors are still fucked up though.. The dock is fine now but the icons in finder are faded. I can't do a clean install it'll take me days installing all these programs.

now, only if someone figured out a way to make Mail/iCal/AddressBook work with Exchange 2003, that would be awesome!
its looking for /EWS/Exchange.amsx file... so something like a local proxy should be able to do the job...

Perhaps I didn't drink enough of the Apple Kool-Aid, but I was unimpressed/left indifferent. My 13" uMBP has the same overall feel after completing an upgrade install from Leopard to Snow Leopard (It was fast before and it it is fast now). I regained a small amount of space which was nice, but less impressive after realizing Apple changed from base 2 to base 10 in calculating disk space. (Still, not complaining) Unfortunately, multitouch 3 finger back/forward no longer functions in Safari. (The option is enabled in System Preferences -> Trackpad) I understand that the majority of the work on this release was on the back-end (OpenCL, Grand Central Dispatch, 64 bit Kernel, etc) and that Apple's focus was on efficiency and removing bugs...but I would have rather had a release with the existing upgrades along with new features for $129 (I am sure I am the vocal minority here). To offset my disappointment, I have to remind myself that Leopard itself already was a great OS (unlike the initial Vista experience) and Snow Leopard is only $29 (should be free; it IS a service pack...albeit a robust one). Anyways, it looks to me as the OS X developers were probably more busy with the iPhone branch this time around and at the end of the day (not a fan-boy) I find Windows 7 fulfills my need for the "new factor" better. Whether that is because of the user experience tweaks, new UI, or speedier interface compared to Vista I don't know, but booting into a new UI after installing a new OS has a great psychological effect on me. Verdict: Buy it because it is $10 (up-to-date)/$29 (upgrade)/$49 (family pack)/$169 (Tiger box set upgrade), just don't expect anything too different. Here is a great read for the more technically inclined (not for those that threw their credit cards to Cupertino because they are in Jobs' or Serlat's RDF): http://arstechnica.com/apple/reviews...-os-x-10-6.ars |

Go into Utilities and open the Quicktime 7 Player. That still has the export option.

Ya i know I figured that but why would you need to revert back to an older version of a software for missing features? Dumb decision by apple IMO
