I installed this kit a few months back....
Went from a completely STOCK suspension to the Performance Suspension with SPORT springs. Everything was brand new... The ride is awesome... Firm, but not too firm.. You feel the road for sure... If I was to do it over I'd get the YELLOW performance springs to get an extra 1/4 drop... At the time this wasn't a suggested combination, but others have done it and it worked out I think better than the Sport springs... The kit comes with EVERYTHING! 1 other thing, it was recommended to change sway bars. I didn't do this and it hasn't been an issue in anyway.. Unless you are taking the car on the track, you'll never notice the difference. Plus changing the rear sway is a JOB! :-) |

Ride/install Report -
Stayed up late this last Friday night and installed the whole setup in my E90 335i. I went for the yellow springs plus the $133 Tischer old performance kit as advertised here but since i had the ZSP to start with i kept the stock sways. The install was pretty straight forward. I'd say about 25% tougher compared to Mustangs, E46s and S4's i've done work on before. I'm lucky enough to have my own lift in my garage, and i'll say i feel for you guys that do these installs off jack stands. Tougher than most kits i've installed over the years, but not ridiculous. Lowering impressions (mind you i did T4s in the back T3s up front): I think the car is sitting pretty much the same out back and down probably 10mm or so up front (guess). Pretty much perfectly level. I wasn't going for a low rider here as this is my wife's daily and we drive downtown a lot in it. Overall, it looks money to me. This car is looking tough now. I'm very happy with the overall stance too and how it looks. Mini M5 Ride Impression: WOW - i've had a LOT of cars/trucks over the years, and i bet i've done suspension work on 60% of them. This is the best blend of performance and livability that I've had so far on a car. Mind you that i've had everything from 8" high performance lift kits on HD diesels, to stock 350z's/S4s/A4 SLines/etc, to an E46 M3 w/ full highend coilover setups, to H&R sports on stock struts on my modded WRX back in 2002 and a bunch in between. For the money, this is the best setup i've done so far. It cost me $550 shipped to my door. I'll say this can't be beat for the price and honestly for a none adjustable setup, this is very nice performance without being harsh. Body roll is way down, the car is more planted, and i can definitely hustle her through cloverleafs at higher speeds. My two year older daughter is equally impressed. While ripping corners (at legal speeds of course) she's encouraging me "faster daddy!" from back in her Recaro car seat. She's impressed and so am I. 10 out 10 for this mod for me. One fly in the ointment though - Alignment. YIKES, no one around here could do it because of the needs for specail computer tooling, so i had to go to the stealership and pay the rapage fees there. It tracks perfect though so I'm happy, even if it costs me $199. Geez!

I have had this BMW Perf suspension for about two years now and I am still very happy with it. Zero problems: rock solid, no squeaks, rattles, or leaks. Ride is firm, fine for DD. If I get a windfall I plan to eventually upgrade to AST4100+Swift.
For the price this can't be beat. Anyone with 40k miles or more should dump their old shocks/springs and upgrade to the Perf kit.

As far as driving goes, it is firmer for sure, but it doesn't rebound nearly as much ... I haven't put a ton of miles on the car ... I will have a better update towards the end of the week.
