btw my cousin's E36 M3 went over 230k...it did cost a pretty penny to get it there....any car can go a great distance when cared for. One reason we don't often see high mileage BMWs is $0/$0/$0/$0....

I thought I was the only fanatic to maintain an Excel spreadsheet of the car's story. Until I met you.. I also track the calculated mileage each tankful and I've not missed one on both my cars. Sound familiar!?
Some day, when my car grows up, it'll be like yours..

Valkyrie? That beast! You sure seem to like the I-6 engine layout! I'm sure the bike is in great shape with all your attention to detail. My Katana is not a serious bike like the Valkyrie, it's smaller and less powerful, it does have its own log book though..

Ok, ok, I also kept an excel sheet of my 118i for about 130,000km until I moved to the US. Good to know I'm not the only nerd. Could't be bothered about keeping an excel sheet of my E90 consumption after I calibrated the OBC such that the error is within 1%. I must say that I always track consumption there though although I know that it's never really a surprise. Not as easy (and quick) to keep up with the bike's consumption. Especially when traveling with a group or on holiday where there are only automatic prepay pumps... Compliments on your great work, though.

How much did you pay for the car new if you don't mind me asking. Just wondering how much of the 75k (your cost of ownership) was the car vs the amount money spent to maintain it?

Excellent!!
I am at 110k now and have every intention to keep on going until 200k. Pretty much like you, no major repairs so far just maintenance. I love my beast, even though it's a 328xi. Unlike you, I have zero commute and drive for fun on the weekends. ( a lot of "up north" trips- Michiganders will understand) Cheers |
