ECU Replaced at Dealer, Now Max Fuel Trims and High AFR
I recently had my ECU replaced at the dealer on my 2007 335i.
Mods are: Procede V5 running 5_23 E85 maps on 50/50 E85/91 Oct DCI VRSF 7" intercooler VRSF downpipes Eisenhaus Race Exhaust Before having my ECU replaced I was able to run a 45% boost setting and an open loop fuel setting in procede of 85% and fuel trims peaked at ~23% Since I got the ECU replaced at dealer I had noticed gas mileage was worse and car just generally didnt' feel right. I did a log and my Fuel trims were flat lined at 34% and AFR was high. I upped the open loop fuel setting to 100% and lowered boost setting by 5% but Trims are still at 34% and I think AFR is still too high. AFR is hitting 15.8. Could there be something different about the new ECU/software in it making the tune not right anymore? First time using datazap but here is a log. |

I've experienced the same variation in ECU's.
I used to be able to run 50+ % E85 with trims and afr under control. Fried my ECU and had it replaced, now can't run more than 20% E85 without maxing trims and throwing 29e0 29e1 codes. Going on 15k with new ECU, have cleared adaptations, nothing works, it is what it is. JB4 and everything else unchanged from one to the other. Strange. |

early 07 MT had defective diodes, poor quality rather than user error

Guessing I'm just going to have to go back to pump gas only tune until I can get a flash tune backend to get these fuel trims back down to something reasonable.

I always thought my car felt different when I recieved a new ijeos dme, after my 2007 msd80 fried. Interesting that others notice some more empirical differences.

Having the same thoughts as well. I had my ecu replaced in my 07 and got the ijeos ecu. Car just doesn't seem right.

Perhaps one of the tuners on here could comment on key differences between the msd80 on the 2007s, and the newer ecu's, and how this translates into real world observations?

Just a suggestion
the PROcede offset parameters are not calibrated to match the new ECU ie the new ECU logic may have changed slightly |

So in the past months I had pretty much just band-aid this problem by lowering the boost considerably.
I'm ready to get my car running right again and restore the boost levels that I used to be able to run. I'm guessing the only way to do that would be a flash tune. Recommendations? Should I just bite the bullet and buy a COBB? Procede support seems kinda nonexistent at this point. |

This would result in the DME providing a higher rate of fuel delivery before any offsets by the Procede. I was running rather high on fuel trims a couple of years ago after loading the aggresive maps into my procede and subsequently adjusted the fuel scalars up to 1.1 and things have looked much better since. If that doesn't work then ditch the procede and get a flash tune. |

Appreciate the help. Just thought about it. I'm running the builtin Procede O2 DP Fix. Should I try disabling that? I was running it before without issue but just thought maybe.... Last edited by FirstBMWLA; 01-19-2015 at 04:57 PM.. |
