Who has had problems with stock dv leaking?
Just trying to get an idea of how many people have had problems with the stock diverter valves leaking, and at what psi?

You probably should have had a 3rd choice being "don't know".

I have a feeling many of them do leak at higher boost, but people just don't know it. I think the stock DV's are perfectly fine for stock or mild boost.
I don't think its so much that it leaks because of boost, but it may be failing to close properly after it opens on throttle closure during shifts following high-boost, allowing a LOT of air to go through, then suddenly forced to close on high boost again... but its like it has problems shutting down the high-volume flow for a bit. That's how my car felt anyway. And tonight, I just put in the Forge DVs. Immediate testing so far appears to have cured my strange boost issues after shifts, but I haven't done enough testing yet. I just put race gas in and now have to let it adapt a little bit. JB2H "feels" stronger to me than before, but could just be the placebo effect. JB2HR is now "on" and I'll be doing more testing later.

I have a suspicion that anyone that voted "NO" is incorrect.
This isn't a high boost issue really, transitions are what give OEM valves the most problems. I think every instance of feedback on this forum for our valve kit mentions slightly increased boost levels, more stable boost curves, and increased power and response. This would strongly indicate that the OEM units are leaking. |
