Towing with my 2007 335i
Hi everyone,
This may seem like a stupid question, but the only reason im asking it is because I like my 335i and dont want to have to trade it in for a truck. I have a 2007 335i with 135 000km and im wondering if anyone has experience towing with it. I have a Race car and would like to tow it once a month to track events on an open trailer. I know a lot of people in europe tow with the 335i, open trailer for bikes, etc, but I havent read anything about towing a car with the 335. Anyone have experience towing a light race car with an open trailer with their 335i? Thanks |

From the European brochure, it looks like the max tongue weight for the factory hitch is 165lbs (75Kg) and the max total weight is 1650 lbs (750Kg) without brakes, or up to 3750lbs (1700Kg) with trailer brakes.

The E90 is only rated to 75kg towball download. With a properly balanced car trailer with a car on it, it will be way too heavy on the towball.
I tow a 1000kg trailer with a 75kg loaded towball download with electric brakes and it's great. I wouldn't want to tow more than that though. |
