How to get rid of the hesitation in the steptronic
To maximize performance of the steptronic, this works the best. Turn off dtc, turn off dts, and use sport mode. It also gets rid of the hesitation with kickdown mode.

Thanks for the advice pharding. I would do this only If I was racing or chasing someone but I just don't see the big deal with this steptronic hesitation that so many people are complaining about
I have driven other automatic cars before (dodge, chevrolet, mitsubishi, mercedes) and this is the faster one I driven so I'm pretty happy with that

When I had my X5 (crashed by a fool who ran a red light), I had the Dinan automatic and software download. It helped on the launch and revs on the steptronic....
I'm waiting for Dinan to come out with something for E90... |

In D mode, the tranny actually works better in many instances, if one does not push into kickdown mode. My work around for passing is this. If I am driving in D mode with DTC/DSC on and I want to pass someone on the highway, I generally quickly shift over to D/S and push forward on the stick twice rapidly to downshift two gears simultaneously pushing the accelerator into kickdown mode. Obviously the downside to disabling is that by disabling DTC/DSC the car is put into a potentially less stabile state. However car enthusiasts got along well for years without these two electronic aids in cars that are were inherently less stable than the current BMW's. When I was 21, I drove a 1969 Mustang Mach 1. While it was inherently much less stabile than current BMW's I still managed to keep it on the road. I suggest experimenting your BMW in a safe manner. What I have not tried is disabling DTC with DSC dumbed down and still partially on.

Lux, how the button for like 5 seconds and it will disable both. You will see it the Triangle on your Dash and a message on iDrive if you have it

Thanks Oz for the tip.
Well I tried this this morning. Honestly, found no difference between the two yet(haven't done any "serious" testing in local backroads I goto though). Problem is, my steptronic felt so damn responsive than ever today(in regular modes, dsc/dtc on or off).
