Seats
Been looking for an answer but since we do not have a forum specifically for interior questions, I can't find information.
Is there any issues / changes that have to occur with putting seats from a 2011 328xi into a 2007 328xi. Both cars are setup with standard seats (lumbar adjust) with memory, power and heat. Greatly appreciate any information. |

They are perfectly backwards compatible (LCI into pre LCI) if you doing sedan to sedan/wagon or coupe to coupe.
They are not forward compatible (pre LCI into LCI) because the 2009+ models have an extra SRS (active head restraints myabe?) module that will be triggered as an SRS fault. Your situation should be fine as long as it sedan to sedan/wagon or coupe to coupe. |

I think for questions such as these, RealOEM can help quite a bit. RealOEM shows the commonality of parts between models. Now with seats, it's a bit less intuitive since trim/options level plays a part in determining compatibility.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Worst case you may need to move a pin in the plug. There was a wiring change in 3/07 so if your build date is before that, one wire may not line up.
