No HRE Wheels Here ?
I searched and cannot find any hits for HRE wheels. Why is that?
I am looking at the 547 and 547R, and the 597. I cant see much diff in the 547 and 547R except the lip appears a slight bit diff in the pic, but it's hard to tell. I don't know if there is any fitment for the 597; HUGE lip, but probably wont fit the E93. Any feedback on HRE wheels? I am looking at them as well as Savini, Agio, and Kinesis. All basically the split spoke look except for the Kinesis. Too many dang choices!

Hey habanero, there isn't many HRE fans on this forum. Regardless if you want some Agio's, Klassen, or Kinesis just let me know and I can help you out. I also carry AM Forged Wheels, COR Forged Wheels, and Beyern Baroque Forged which are worth while taking a look at.

I think HRE's are kind of expensive for a lot of folks on this forum, especially considering *some* of the wheels have had some quality issues (before anyone kills me, I said some). I'd love a set of monobloks but damn $$$

You mean the "HRE" had the quality issues? If that's the case, I should steer clear I suppose. Dang, I find something I think I like and it either wont fit, is too $$$, or .........

They had some issues in the past but that was quite some time ago. Now they're one of the leading manufacturers in quality forged wheels.

Running HRE 448R. I like them because they are one of the lightest multi peice rims out there. I was looking for weight savings and looks.

Do a search for Klassen and look at the Klassen K5.1.They are close to the same style wheel as the Hre's but better quality and alot better looking imo.

HRE is way overpriced for what you get....paying for the name, heavy, not allowed on tracks..list goes on. If you want bling, then by all means go for em!

I disagree with heavy. For a mulit piece wheel they are light. My wheels wieghed in at 22.5lbs F & R and they are 19x9 & 19x10 and I have run them at HPDE with no problems, but I agree they are not hardcore track rims and I agree they are way over priced especially in Canada where prices are 30% higher.

HRE is definitely pricey but you do get a high quality piece for the price. With that said, I think there are more unique options for the same amount or less- Enkreuz, DPE and 360 Forged come to mind.

HRE is still the leader in forged wheels. Their technology is ahead of the curve and their designs are copied by every single forged company out there. They took a hit a few years ago when a wheel collapsed on the track and their wheels were deemed 'unsafe' but that ended pretty quickly (what happened could have happened with any wheel). Anyway there are lots of options out there for forged wheels.
HRE is still top dog with their technology and designs but they are also one the most expensive as well. |

I see HRE wheels on four new e9x M3's, so HRE seems to be popular with the
M3 guys.

I have C20 and used to have paint peel off problem.
Actually, HRE quality manager fly to Indonesia and checked the quality and repaint it for free. They have great customer service anyway.

HRE 593R's
HRE's are definitely expensive, but after looking at everything (at the time) out there I decided they had the best quality wheels for the purposes I wanted. They look as good on the inside as they do on the outside. As far as weight is concerned I shaved of a noticeable amount of weight going from the stock wheels to 20's. I think it was 23lbs up front and 25lbs (L and R combined per end). I have them on my E90 and have no fit issues at all. Bottom line-you get what you pay for.

We've only sold a few sets on this forum - I guess the price deters people. Also, you really can have virtually the same thing from DPE or Enkreuz. They are two of the only companies that buy their materials from Triangle Alloys, the same company HRE uses. HRE is a giant, but they are pricey, because HRE charges the same price for all widths and finishes (which is the price of the widest wheel with the most expensive finish), whereas for DPE/Enkreuz, they break out the pricing, so you don't pay as much if you get a 19x8.5 and 19x10.
I bet you if you bought a DPE or Enkreuz 20x13 Brushed/Chrome, it wouldn't be as big of a price difference from HRE... but none of you are rolling Murcielagos... so |
