Central Locking System Failed

Hey All, I'm out of town and my wife just notified me that the car will not unlock with the car keys. Here is what she said is happening.
She hit the car key to unlock it. It made a noise to unlock the car, it unlocked the left side passenger door and all other doors remained locked. She tried unlocking driver door through the back door, would not unlock. Used the key in the keyfob and got in. Pressed the SOS button to have BMW Assist unlock, they sent signal and still nothing. LOCK Button does nothing.
Any of you had this happen yet. Trying to see if Central Locking mechanism failed or software based. Any help would be great, so my wife can let the dealership know on Monday. Crap always happens on the weekend. Jeez.

Never mind, had wife recheck fuses and she finally found a blown one. Still having her take it in on Monday to have lock actuator/ locking system looked at to find out why it blew. No error message in Navigation system as in the past.

Fwiw, fuses don't normally blow for no reason at all. You have some underlying issue that caused this to happen. FIx the problem with the fuse and then your door lock problem won't re-occur.

There is a service bulletin out on this one. It happened to me twice. A real pain in the butt. By the second time the bulletin was out. I believe it had to do with a faulty gas cap door lock that was shorting out the system. I think they ended up replacing all the switches on mine by the time they were done.

The scary part was when I was inside and could not get out! The only way I could lock the right side doors was to do it manually, and once that was done there was no way to unlock them from the inside or out. The driver's door can be unlocked manually with the key, but if your doors lock once you are inside then the only way out is to unlock the driver's door by reaching out the window and unlock it manually.

The fob did work to unlock the hatch on my E91 and my 8 year old loved getting into the back seat that way.

Old thread but this just happened to me. fuse 57 was blown.
I'm bringing the car in to find the bad actuator.
I sent the dealer a copy of the service bulletin - thanks guys.

The best part:

The only door that opens is the driver door with the mechanical key. The fuse box is behind the glove box on the passenger side. It was fun having the shift knob and e-brake handle wedged into my lower intestines while changing the fuse so I can open the doors this weekend.

I'd like to find the engineer who decided to eliminate manual lock release from all of the other door handles and wedge my e brake handle into *his* intestines. wtf!

This is one more reason why the E91 rules. I was able to gain access to the interior through the rear hatch.

Ugh. That would in fact suck more.

After replacing the fuse the lock actuator on the passenger front will not unlock by fob or button. I can at least unlock the door by pulling the handle now. On the upside, I know exactly which actuator is fubar.

< rant >
I still want to jam my e-brake handle into the engineer that decided to eliminate manual unlock override on all but the driver door. Having a blown fuse prevents manually opening the door from the inside? You have to *try* to make that happen. Did BMW hire engineers from Jaguar or something?

Can you imagine what the lawsuit will look like when someone gets locked in their car in the middle of a flood or if they end up in a creek (without a paddle) and drown?
