INJEN Intake 250 mile Review! + Pictures
First, big thanks Bobby@BavarianX. Thanks for all the help!
Okay, to start off I have my experence with intakes on the n52 platform. I have owned and sold most. Fugi was shit, AFe was alright, Gruppe-M was a little better but none compare to this intake. Here is a quick performance mod list for my e90. Catless Mid Pipes Remus Quad Muffler Injen Intake The power increase is felt through the entire rpm range. The throttle response is much better when compared to stock. As for sound, it's wicked. Around 4k rpm's you can hear the engine roaring. I highly recommend this to anyone who is considering an aftermarket Air Intake system. Not only is it one of the best for our cars, but also looks great in the engine bay. Thanks again Bobby for the help with the exhaust, intake and wheels. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Pictures posted!

looking at the dynos, there was a drop in power in the low rpm range.. were you able to notice this at all? it's the one thing I'm worried about. thanks!

I am in the process of getting a date set for a dyno, but I feel a gain through out the entire rpm range, not only in the top end as showed by the dyno. Plus the sound is amazing.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It looks like from 2k-3k RPM, there's a loss of HP. I believe the gain of 12HP, but thats at 6500 RPM. Unless your really pushing your car, I don't think your would ever feel that much HP gain. I cant wait to see the dyno though. Not trying to hate on the intake at all. I know its a great intake, because Injen is a reputable company. I just wanted to share some thoughts...

Something you have to understand is this intake has been in research and development for many years, so it is crafted with low end and high end power in mind. The owners of Injen drive a 2006 e90 330i and a 2007 e92 335i. So they had their test subject to run test at all times. It's the little things that count. With the three other intakes (afe, gruppe-m and fugi) I felt a decrease in power in the low end but a small increase in the higher rpm. That always got to me, that's why I did not stick with any of those intakes. The Injen feels faster and smoother from launch at 1800 rpms all the way to 7k. Try it out you wont be disappointed.

I understand that this piece has been in R&D for years.
How does the heat shield work? Is there another piece that isn't shown that closes up the back end of the shield? There is a huge opening in the back of the shield that goes directly into the engine bay where all the hot air is coming from.

The heat sheild blocks the entire filter, it does not need to block the back of the filter seeing how the filter is only drawing in the air from outside. It works rather well. Better then I thought it would.
Yes I do have some pictures but can't post ATM because I am on my phone. But they look and sound amazing. Coming from just a muffler delete to catless midpipes and the Remus quad muffler, the performance is night and day. Bobby@bavarnix helped me with getting the quads and I had a muffler shop close to me whom I trust install the quads and midpipe. If you want to check them out let me know. We can set something up.

I got mine on Friday and installed it yesterday with my dad, so far it's my first mod on the car that I paid for (I removed my CDV but that didn't cost anything) and I can't believe how nice it sounds for the price. Everyone who rode in my car yesterday said it definitely feels faster but I'm sure that's mostly down to the aggressive sound.
One thing though, every picture I've seen shows the orange Injen logo like in the OP but mine has a red square logo that says "TUNED Injen Calibrated Intake System" why are there two different logos on the same intake? |

Just an update for anyone else with the red logo, I PMed Bobby@BavarianX and he informed me that the red logo is Injen's new logo, the intake is the same as the ones in the OP.
