Hey everyone, a couple days ago i went to go for a drive and after unlocking the car and getting in i noticed the hazard lights were flashing both on the dashboard and the actual lights on the outside. I tried the button to turn them off and nothing happened. The car starts and drives fine, and the indicators also work. I disconnected the battery for a couple days over the weekend so the battery wouldn't die and after connecting it again the hazard lights instantly came on.

The car is a BMW 325i 2006

Any ideas on what could have caused this? I've also had my seatbelt/airbag light on for a couple months, i don't think that could be related though.

Have you tried just unplugging the switch? It is relatively easy to access and will rule out the switch itself being defective.

I tried unplugging it and trying it again and it fixed the issue for a few minutes then it came back. So i ordered a replacement switch and replaced it and it's fixed the issue.

This is a real long shot, I know. I have a similar issue happen to me, only thing is, that when the car is off, the hazard lights also stay off. Do you think this could also be the faulty button?
