Can you remove the silver pieces in lower grill?
I have an 07 335i and am trying to darken it up a little. I have the blacked out upper grill, but am interested in getting rid of the silver accents in the lower grill. I had thought about having them painted, but was wondering if I could just remove them. Are these held on by clips or screws or are they actually part of the bumper? See the picture below for what I am talking about.
Thanks! (BTW, this is obviously a picture before installing the black upper grill) |

They can be removed.
Held by tabs and a little tricky to remove. If you just pull on them, you might break a tab. The safest and most painful way is to remove the bumper so you can remove the bars from behind. The risky way is to pull on them while using some kind of "L" shape tool to go press the tabs from behind. there are about 3 tabs for the side bars and 4 tabs for the middle one. Good luck.

yep, they're removeable, but i would replace them with the black ones, otherwise it'd look odd.
they're called finisher rods...you can find some info with a search.

Grab them with both hands, lift up first then pull out. The middle one is easy. The side ones are tricky and most likely the tabs will break, but who cares. Up close, it's kinda unfinished look, but front end looks nicer several feet away.
