Bluetooth phone via Voice-activated menus
I am currently using this feature and I love it --- total hands-free phone calls.
Now, if I am reading this correctly, they are saying that in order to continue with this feature, I have to subscribe to BMW Assist after the first 4 years? Is this right? I thot the Bluetooth feature is incorporated into the Navi + iDrive thingy? How's it related to BMW Assist?

No, that is not correct. Bluetooth is simply paired with your BMWAssist module as part of the options packages. You'll still be able to use it as long as you have the car. Idrive is simply an interface for multiple systems in the car. However, you can have Bluetooth without Idrive and Idrive without bluetooth. So, they are not dependent features.
