Don't know which ECU mod to pick up
Thanks for taking the time to read the thread. I've got a few important things I'm looking to have this mod accomplish.
1. Not be overly powerful (yes, I occasionally share the car with my partner when I need a something bigger than a coupe for work purposes). 2. Deliver a noticeable boost to low end preferably idle to around 3500k. (as I spend 95% of my driving in this range) 3. Isn't insanely complex to install. some of the install videos I saw looked doable, but i guess the less bolts i need to remove the better.....or something to that effect. As background info, I've had the car since dec of 08. Its a 335i AT coupe, Space gray with black leather, pretty much with everything except i-drive system. I've enjoyed her stock for the past 6 months, she's been great, had only a fuel pump failure last month that got fixed in a matter of a day. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, considering I hear a lot of these tunes fry the weak hpfp. Oh and I just checked, the car has the oil cooler visible from the front tire well (in case that makes a difference). I've paid attention and noticed my habits and tendencies with the 335. Also having a 328i sedan I must say that the 335 just begs to be driven harder. With that being said, I don't WOT and red line her at every opportunity. I commute A LOT with her, and I usually do about 15 miles of surface streets each way, and I've noticed that I really love the throw back effect of the torque, and seek to enhance it a bit. I know there are crazy tunes out there but I'm not looking to track the car or anything in that category. I would simply like something dependable that's going to preserve the balance of the stock car, while maybe adding a bit more exhilaration once those damn red lights turn green. I also don't have any idea as to what amount of torque will have what effect. do I want 320ish? 350ish? am I going to whiplash myself with 350 range torque? and is there any way to control the range ? to make LOADS of torque from very low rpms? Thanks for the input.

thanks for the reply guys, now I noticed both of you suggested the JB+. So does this device remap the torque and power curve, or does it just take factory settings and amplify them? Meaning basically you have more power at the same exact points as factory.
Also I've read accounts of JB+ causing shaking or rough idle type issues? any input on that? If I get this JB+ would I run it at the default setting or below the default setting. I'm wondering basically what the range is as far as where you dial set the dial and what the output is? Thanks again!

SSTT - brain dead simple, nice power gains, and simple to install... Plus they are dirt cheap used right now, I saw no benefit to going with JB+.

Hows that? I had switched from the SSTT to the JB+ and felt a very noticable difference and was worth every penny. Granted as soon as I received the JB+ I cranked that bad boy up to 90%...

From the dynos that I saw, the JB+'s higher boost levels made practically no difference on the octane available in my area. Plus, you're more likely to throw codes at higher boost levels. I don't care about adjustability, I just wanted some decent power - if I wanted more power, I would have gone with a JB3 or Procede. I just didn't see the value in paying extra for a JB+, I'm sure it's great at all - just no benefits over an SSTT for my situation
