Any non-U.S. Citizens travel to Munic for ED?
I am a non-U.S. Citizen on a work visa in the U.S. I was wondering how long it takes to get a visa to travel to Germany / France? Does BMW require a U.S. passport to do ED?

I did it on permanent resident card, It is a royal pain in the ass. You would need to show health insurance, pre-book plane ticket, hotel, show letter of employment etc and then hope that the German Embassy will issue you the visa.
It can be done, just have all the paperwork ready for visa. Also you would need to have your Euro Delivery official contract ready. |

It takes the embassy about 2 weeks to issue a visa.Book a refundable flight to Munich, hotel, get a letter from employer about job, health insurance, n sign the eurodelivery contract with BMW, n give it to the embassy with in 2 weeks, if you can.

I did go to Munich last month not for ED but did the plant tour and stuff. It took me 1 day to get the Schengen Visa. I applied in person at the German Consulate in Houston TX and got my passport the next day. If you live in a city where there is a consulate, you should be able to pick up your passport with the Visa in no more than 3 days.
I applied for the visitors Visa which is supposed to be valid for 90 or 180 days but they would only give me a Visa for the exact duration of the trip which was 8 days. You will need proof of travel insurance, which cost my wife and me a total of $18.00 for the whole trip. Check out www.sevencorners.com for the travel insurance. You will need to book all your accommodation as well as have confirmed to & fro flight reservations for the visa application. Depending on which Consulate you go to, you may have to make appointments over the phone for the Visa interview and the phone call cost me $5.00 a minute. The visa itself is approximately $85.00 depending on ForEx fluctuations on the day you go for your Visa interview. I would say that it is a million times easier and stress free than getting a US Visa.

Thanks for the info guys. I live in Minneapolis and the closest consulate is in Chicago. I might have to go the fedex route to provide my docs to the consulate
