Selling 325i e90 for 335i e92
Ok I test drove 335i coupe and was blown by its power. I have 2006 325i with lots of options and thinking of selling it for the new coupe.
I know a lot of people will say "will you sell your 335i when the new m3 comes" but thats out of my price range, so no. Here are the details of my car: Premium package, Navi, Active Steering, Xenon, PDC, Heated Seats, 6MT Its black sapphire metallic with beige leather. I have about 25000 miles on it. Its in perfect condition So I did some research and concluded that if I get $31000 or $32000 on it then I will be happy. What do you guys think??? Posting is on craigslist. I will putting it on cars.com, msn.com and some other car selling websites. Dealer is ready to give me $28000 for trade in. Dont like that. Now I got a call from some classyauto.com who says for $239 he will put the car on ebay and his website. He got my number from craigslist.org. Does anybody has any experience dealing with this guy??? He said he's been doing this for 10 years. |

You do not need to pay someone to sell your car. Put it up on ebay costs $40 to list and another $40 if someone buys it. I sold my last car on ebay and it took a total of 3 days from listing it to having the payment.

The Dealer's off
Hey:
I am a sales manager at a car dealership. Your car is worth at least 30000 trade. beat them up a bit, plus if you trade you get a tax credit (as long as it's not a lease). And trade it in NOW, not in the spring when the market for xi's will change because people want the all wheel drive for the upcomming winter. |

LOL I just went to nada.com and priced my 30xi with 17,500 miles.
Average Trade-In Average Retail Base Price $36,325 $41,025 Mileage - 17,500 miles N/A N/A Options BMW Prem/Harman Kardon Stereo (Std. 330, Z4 3.0si, M5, 760) $500 $575 Power Sunroof (M3 Coupe) N/A N/A Sport Suspension Pkg. (Std. 3 Series Coupe, M Cars, 6 Series) $1,325 $1,475 Theft Recovery System $100 $125 TOTAL PRICE $38,250 $43,200* * This Average Retail price is based on a clean vehicle history report. Don't make a $43,200 mistake. Get a Vehicle History Report today. LOL the retail price of $43,200 is more than my ED price. My OTD price was like 44,100. Trade of $38,250 means I would have lost like only $2K for the year. :rocks:

My 330i E90 bought just 9 months ago, very little mileage. Paid 7K options, paid 8K mod. Will lose 20-25% just solely on a 62K base price. Getting a 40+hp more 335i and less 2 doors will mean I will add a lot more options which I did not have it on the E90; and also I need to do the E92 mod all over again. Will be another tied up on my time, money, and my wife will not allow me to do it for a small difference change. I shall wait for the bigger temptation M3 E92 to find more justification. I think if your E90 has been pure stock and the 335i will also be kept as a pure stock. Go ahead enjoy 335i it is a great car.

My thought is you may be waiting for a while before finding someone willing to pay a premium price for a car with so many miles. Comparably equipped 2006 BMWs will have a lot less miles for not much more than your premium $32,000 asking price. Good for you if you get the price you want. If you want to unload the car to get into the 335 I suggest looking at a few more estimators and setting a realistic price. Good luck. |

You will never get $31,000 - $32,000 from a dealer for 325i.
I had a fully loaded 330i with only 14,000 miles & only got $34,000. Your dealer is correct that you will get trade in $28,000 if your lucky @ most dealers? Sell it outright might get more? but you lose big $ on tax break. Meaning: $28,000 trade in might not be so bad after all? |
