Tire size?
What's the proper tire size to run on a 8.5in rim?

Front or Rear?
Winter tires setup? Track use or street? 17", 18", or 19"? Also assuming this is for the 07 328 that is in your avatar?

Yes it's for my 328. They're for street use. I bought the rims used from a guy that had them on his 5 series. They're 18in m6 reps, 8.5 in what he told me for all 4. The tires currently are Michelin pilot 245x40x18 but the sidewall seems too tall, I was wondering if I should just run 255x35x18 all the way around?

I'd go with a 235/40/18 all around, depending on the offset.

I'm not sure what the offset is, I'm not even sure if the rims are 8.5 in! They may be 9in for all 4.

The offset will be stamped on the back of the wheels. That will affect the tire size recommendation.

EDIT: Ok I took off a rim, and it said 18x8JJ. So its an 8 inch after all. So what size tire would be correct for this setup?
