Mod-friendly smog place in SoCal - LA
Hi all, I failed my smog test because the engine of my car is somewhat modded. It's a 335i.
Here are the mods: Tial turbo upgrade Riss Racing Catless 3 inch downpipe with 02 sim and AR gaskets Spearco FMIC ER charge pipe (Polished) ER top intercooler pipe ( Polished) HKS BOV I think it's mainly because of the catless down pipe. Do you guys know any hook up for a mod-friendly smog place so I don't have to put everything back to stock just for the test? I live in West Los Angeles. BTW, I am sure many of you guys have a catless down pipe. How do you get away with it on the smog test? Thanks in advance. Steve |

That would be illegal for a smog shop to do that and your asking for that information on a public forum. Gl buddy

I know man.. Well I just wanna know how to deal with catless DP for the smog test. I was wondering if the only way is to just replace it w/ the original one or there is any other way.
I'm planning to swap it w/ the orig this weekend but just wonder if there's a back-door-way. lol.. |

It the shop goes strictly by the rules, the turbo mod is probably illegal, too.
Don't you guys consider the smog rules when you do this stuff to begin with? |

We all know they exist and the shady ones do not get away with crap for so long by being stupid and going on the internet to advertise their dealings...that's a face to face encounter on a strictly personal recommendation with a stack of cash involved.
The stupid ones go on the internet to look for such things. |

your best option would be to swap the parts out otherwise go to some car meets and ask in person cuz posting something online in writing could get their shop in trouble or shut down so no one will actually let you know on the forum.
