switching from rft to standard
about to make the switch from RFT > standard tyres on my 320d
Any recommendations? best tyre to go for? Was going to try blackcircles.com as there is a registered fitter of theirs around the corner.. their prices seem reasonable? Looking to spend around 500-600 all in but don't want cheap so can increase on that also i've read the falkens dont last long so thinking of avoiding them tyre sizes 225/40/18 fronts . 255/35/18 rears |

It really depends what you're looking for. Dry grip, wet grip, durability, noise, braking distance etc.
If you want a tyre that performs good in all areas consider Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's. However there are other tyres which are better for dry grip, wet grip etc. If you list what you require in priority, then im sure you'll get loads of good suggestions. |

You may have to revise those needs - you can get a set of Falkens fitted for £600 but they won't last anywhere near 15k on the rear.
I think you either get £600 tyres OR you get 15-20k tyres - to get both you'd have to buy LingLongWingWang Ditchfinder Extremes made from plastic instead of rubber...

I have Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta on mine. They are pretty good. Got them from here:
http://lovetyres.com/tyre/Vredestein...anta/225-45-17 Looking at Order Total £479.98 for the set delivered. Then take them round to your fitting centre, and they will probably charge around £40-50 to fit them. Under budget. Otherwise, the Goodyears come in at Order Total £642.92 + fitting. Over budget. Your choice though. |

By the way i have the Goodyears and they are much better than the RFT Contis i used to have. So much more grip and a better ride. |

I'm switching to Axa Insurance soon so rang them to check their view. The man on the phone said it was fine. I also enquired, for future reference, about if I was able to fit winter tyres, and would there be any premium increase. He said they are fine and no premium increase I think it probably is worth ringing your insurer to check, just make sure the tyre size is listed on the door card of your car |

The Dunlop SportMAXX RT should fit into your budget perfectly.
They are supposed to be fantastic tyres, which are, give or take, on par with the performance of the Assymmetric 2's and Conti Sport Contact 5's (which are the best tyres knocking around at the moment), but for about 10% less in price. I would seriously consider the SportMAXX RT (make sure it is that exact tyre, as there are lots of "SportMAXX" tyres). |

Would I need 94XL or 96XL for a E92 335i? 96XL are £50 more per tyre

I was going to use lovetyres, but in the end, my local independent match the price (well, the price + their fitting charge), so just went with them instead.
