Cat failure...
So as i was driving yesterday and all of a sudden my car lost most of its power and the idle was very rough and there was a constant popping noise coming from the exhaust. I checked the code and my cat malfunctioned. Im thinking now i might need new secondary cats. Would it be better for me to buy oem cats or replace them with vibrant resonators or something else? What do you guys think? Opinions?

read the codes. the 02 probes sit in the dps not midcats.

if they went bad, and you're out of warranty. i would go catless and put in some resonators to clean up the sound.

Will there be a fault at all if the secondary cats are defective?
IMHO: Lambda sensor controls the AFR (upstream the catted DPs) Monitor sensor checks if the precat are defective (downstream the catted DPs) But there is no sensor located downstream the secondary cats. Or maybe I'm simply wrong.
