Leasing GTA
Hi, I am looking to get into a 335i coupe next spring-ish.
Was hoping the community here would be able to share some valuable info. Few questions... What does everyone anticipate the lease rate to be like on an '07 335i coupe next spring? I am wondering if it will be lower than the current 7.5% since BMW will be looking to sell the '08 335i coupes at that time. How hard is it to find a used '07, and does BMW offer a lower lease rate on used vehicles? Lastly, can anyone provide their leasing details from here in the GTA for the 335i Coupe? Any related information to leasing, 335i, and GTA would be very appreciated, thanks. |

you get a lower rate for being a BMW loyal customer... ie purchased/leased a vehicle from them in the past. Rate on new cars will always be higher.... unless they can't get rid of them.

I would think rates will go down by then, as the G37 will be out amongst various other competitors. The rates really aren't that bad right now, it's the residuals on the coupes that is making the payments so much higher than a sedan. |

As repeat customer we got 0.5% off lease rate on all BMW's including my new E93.
The coupe is so hot right now I doubt the lease rate will come down too soon. I also doubt there will be much inventory to be cleared out this fall. By next spring there won't be any new 07's left (08 models start production in late August/early Sept), and the only used 07's available will be "executive demos" that have 10,000km on the clock, plus repo's and early trade-in's. There won't be too many too choose from. If you want good rate go for the sedan.

1 - % discount from MSRP. This determines the initial value for lease calculation. We've been getting between 3.5% - 5% discount in recent years because we have leased 6 vehicles from them in the past 4 years. (An exceptional case was 8.47% discount or an X5 4.8i. They mistakenly sold a lower version of the same vehicle that we ordered 2 months prior, so they gave us an available but much upgraded replacement from the lot at deep discount to make up the difference! They also threw in an OEM CD changer plus others goodies for free, see below.) 2 - Extras - such as freebies (BMW logo mats, jackets, key chains) and discount on accessories (I got 50% off a wind screen for the E93). Unfortunately lease interest rate and residual value are set by BMW Finance in Canada, and are non-negotiable. The only discount they give is 0.5% off lease rate for repeat customers.

yeah in the states people can't negotiate as well on rate (unless of course the dealer marked it up past their buy rate ) At least you guys get a reduction, more than people here in the states get unless they are buying a 5,6,or 7 series. They have rate reduction programs for owner loyalty, but they left the 3 series off, at least for now.

So the consensus here is that with waiting until spring chances are all 'o7s will be gone, and those left will allow for only a limited selection. The '08s might have a lower lease because of all the competition but that is just hearsay? Do I have that right?
Why do the coups have a worse residual? Driven harder? Wouldn't their 'hotness' keep their resale value alive? |

I am not sure about that since all our vehicles are leased (for tax write off against business). I would imagine BMW offers the same discount since leasing and financing are the same in the eyes of the financial services - it is about lending money and make money on interest in return.
Can anybody else chime in?
