also, you may need to reinforce the DCT to withstand that kind of power. BuraQ is our local 335is expert here on E90Post. Im sure he will direct you right

FMIC + LSD then get the turbos.

In Germany there have been a number of failures of the DCT with high torque tunes, even on stock turbos. I would not recommend running the RBs without upgrading the DCT, as it's also quite expensive to repair.

No proven, successful DCT upgrade (on the 135, 335is or M3 front for the supercharged ppls).... Until a reliable upgraded clutch/clutch plate is released for the DCT, even FBO power will stock turbos have been killing the DCT.
I would def add an FMIC as your next mod, especially before you even consider a turbo upgrade. IMO, it depends on whether you're gonna track (whether its 1/4 miles or actually track racing) or if it's gonna stay on the street. IMO, the 335is has a very good sport suspension & maybe more aggressive springs/sleeve-over kit would be sufficient for street applications. Obviously if the car's gonna see the track, bushings, coil-overs, brakes & LSD would make much more sense then upgrading the snails. |

Again, it is your car, and if you have the money time and patience to back it, then go for the RBs, but if you're afraid of your trans failing, steer clear of upgraded turbos

You want to get the softer clutch upgrade set. Cost is about $2200 which can hold 600+ whp |

If you want to go upgraded turbos then go for it. Once the turbos are in then you can have the car tuned however you want to. You can make the same 460wtq(or less) but carry the curve out to make way more HP and be a lot faster and go easier on the trans. Then you can put some more thought into beefing up the transmission.

Not that it's a bad thing, but right now stick to OEM replacement parts |

Other than throwing in different clutches and steels has anyone looked at machining the drum to fit an extra OE clutch and steel in? Extra clamping power but the OE materials.

Big Money project, especially when the OEM components can still keep pace with the power levels we're producing.

What about a Single turbo?
It looks like that for now, It's a toss up if anything..if you want to run RB's on the unknown threshold DCT in the 335is....You could possibly pull it off..but with risk. Would need to be careful and run the system at a limit with RB's as others have said if you want to keep it going......Also, what about the Single turbo setups for the N54 (Vishnu) while we are on the subject, would that fit and work on the 335is w/ DCT or do they not support it...I am guessing its the same case as the RB's? Interested to know if anyone has tried a single on the 335is. Being the car has supporting mods and future DCT upgrade planning.....Interested to know the 335is is a great platform but the DCT is the only unknown (for now) power limit...And since the single would have more lag but have a violent kick in power...Would that yield a harder wear on the DCT on paper or would the RB's turbo setup put more wear with higher torque....Just out of curiousity if both cars are turned on a conservative level.
