Eurobox: K&N vs Afe Pro Dry air filters
Quick question for you guys. Which filter would you recommend using for the Eurobox (OEM Euro spec 330/325 intake with cone filter)? To my understanding the oiled K&N filters can cause some issues with the MAF sensors (not sure how true this is). Is the AFE Pro Dry filter a good alternative and worth the extra cost? The vehicle is a US Spec N52 with eurobox.

I've been using K&N for years, never once had a problem.
When you clean it, after using the cleaner / rinsing it with water, let it dry for 24 hours. Apply oil generously but don't dunk it in a vat of oil and you'll be fine. I clean my filter twice a year. |

It's the exact same thing as the AEM Dryflow filters, and I've used those on other vehicles I've owned for years. Some of those vehicles I even compared the difference between an oiled K&N with the Dryflow and never noticed one bit of reduced performance with the Dryflow. I'll never oil another filter again. They rule. Any LMAO at the guy who's all "just clean your MAF once a month and you'll be good". Who the hell wants to do that??? |

I am yet to install my dry aFe & box, will do it on Friday night/weekend. If you can wait i'll post impressions
I liked Desi4life's idea of buying 2 k&n to swap, while you clean the other

I've used cone k&n filters and flat ones with no problems, before install I always get my big leaf blower and blow the opposite direction for a while and use the nylon k&n cover. *Won't it restrict?* honestly no, it's hairline thin, gets your fine dust off and repels water awesome. I'd say 4k miles still looks brand new.
My next filter to try is Green Filter cones but haven't found the right size inlet flange yet. This is for gruppe-m replica intake not eurobox/PI. |

in short, i love it.
Its more aggressive, compared to USA airbox with regular filter and intact charcoal filter. More impressions here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=401 The filter installs different than OEM euro filter. The euro Dry aFe is missing alot of the front "Nose" but it has grooves to slide into the + shaped holders in the eurobox For you, it may be more like a refinement, so you cant go wrong with w.e filter you select.
