Simota Intake Question
Hey guys, I recently purchased a Simota Carbon Fiber 2nd generation intake for my 328. I was going to install it today via the help of a friend and now he has me paranoid. I have a few questions, does this intake require any modifications in order for it to fit? He says its a universal fit intake, and I argue its only for the E90s. And do I need anything else such as a heat shield or anything with this intake? People with this intake, how do you like it sound wise and have you felt any difference in mpg/power? Please chime in for some help.
Thanks

I assume you're talking about the CB2 intake. If so, I got a heatshield with it when I purchased it used. Otherwise, it does not require any modifications to fit and you'll be able to hear it roar above 3k rpms

you're freaking out for no reason. Take off the stock box. Take the MAF sensor out of it, put it in the new intake (there's a bung for it), and put in the new intake

does not hurt to try, it only takes like 5 mins to get the intake out, if even that, just take it out and try the new one. If it does not fit just put the old intake back in.
