You Meth people....gimme a frickin' clue!
Would you say your ride runs:
(a) SmootherOptions refer to smoothness, not trq/hp.... Which tune are you running? |

Yup.....
Engine feels and sounds much happier on meth. Intake and oil temps stay stable and do not rise at all even with the higher power levels on daily driving scenarios. |

V5 Rev 2.5 with an Aquamist HSF-3 x2 1.0mm jets. (other mods in profile)
Daily driver (45 miles a day) and weekend HPDE track star I usually don't spray on my drive to work, unless on the way home and I need some adrenaline. She pulls extremely hard and smooth, especially at high RPM. 18 PSI on stock turbos will pin you against your seat and she'll chirp 3rd gear! I'll get back later next week when the upgraded turbo's are fully up and running. The car never heat soaked when it was 100 our....now with these morning temps in the 50's, I feel like I'm driving a NA torque monster (I forgot what it's like to drive when cool out).

Wow - impressive effect, unanimous response!
Expect: Cooler running = lower emissions But: Tune = higher emissions So....do you find tune + meth complies w/EPA & State requirements? Especially you California drivers....recently a speeder was fined for altering emission controls on his Acura for better performance....big time.... |

But if we see better emissions, meth or just plain water inj is a major plus! No worries....I'm sold.... Diesel mfg's injecting urea. How come gas engines not coming w/water inj? Come to think, water inj for diesel? |

Also, water in the liquid phase entering the combustion chamber vaporizes on fuel combustion to create grin inducing torque. Fuel economy. Lower emissions per lb fuel burned. Cheap. Reliable / not very complex. Automobile mfg's & Fed, what's not to like? Intriguing: Condense exhaust water vapor to supply water injection. Much better than EGR? Should be a no-brainer - water injected engines output more water than they inject! Heat o'vaporization: Under-utilized. . Last edited by CALWATERBOY; 09-29-2011 at 01:54 PM.. |

Def runs smoother.
Also the new PROCEDE 2.5/3 V5 is that much smoother and still just as powerful if not more. Except even better cause there is virtually no heat soak Last edited by Jeff@TopGearSolutions; 09-29-2011 at 01:52 PM.. |

Urea injection causes a chemical reaction that reduces emmisions(CO2 IIRC)
The reason meth isnt used by manufacturers is because its a hassle for the end user. You cant base what a OEM should due based on what the members of the forum want, we represent the 1% of the buyers that places performance above almost everything. I mean, if the average jackass drove a FBO tuned N54 they would complain to the dealer about the loud exhaust, the smell and the car jerking them back violently when accelerating. Not only that, but they would have to refill the meth resevoir which is too much work for most BMW owners... Last edited by rader1; 09-29-2011 at 01:56 PM.. |

+1. Meth provides much greater gains than racegas due to cooling effects. Heatsoak is still an issue with racegas. Not with meth.
