Wheel repair in denver area?
I got two scrapes, one on passenger front and one on passenger rear wheel I need repaired. Anyone can recommend quality place that wont screw up the repair, joy ride my car, and stand by their work in the Denver area?
I'm going be in the boulder area Friday October 14th and wanted to see about getting the repair done while I am down that way. Thanks |

Do a search on this forum called wheel repair. There was a whole thread. A lot of guys liked Alloy Wheel Repair out of CO Springs.

Many will probably refer you to Woody's in Denver. When I needed to get my wheel repaired, I went there. First, I didn't like the location/the place. Second, they wanted to heat my wheel up prior to straightening it.
I searched around and found this place behind the Rocky's Auto. I will post their # when I get home. |

Id avoid Woody's. I had mine done there and I will be getting mine redone this winter, probably by alloy wheel repair or maybe even just an auto body shop. Woody's didnt put a clear coat, or a normal clear coat, and its been a pain in the ass to keep my damn wheel dust off even with wax. So I have 3 wheels that LOOK good, but no clear coat perse. So I need to get that done. Woody's did do a good job of straightinng out my wheel that was bent and fixing the curb rash and dings from rocks, but the clear coat issue is unnacceptable in my book. They said they cleared it, but its not right or they used something that didnt work.

I curbed one of my stock 189 335 wheels a couple years ago and I took it to Murray Motors and they have a guy that does a smoking great job on wheel repair. You couldn't tell it was scraped, I even got part of the big spoke.
Only thing I would request is make sure he throws on some clearcoat, mine was left flat and was just not smooth. Might cost a bit more but the base price was $125 even. |

It's essential on all silver painted wheels. Other colors too

There is a guy we use in Boulder that is pretty good. I'll see if he's available on the 14'th. You would leave the car correct?

Co's BMW is charging $120 per wheel, and I have to call to see who does it (they call someone into the shop), and whether the $120 per wheel involves clear coat. I really hoping to get both tires repaired for less than $200, figuring the extra $50 I'll be spending in gas to get there and back ;-) would put me at $250, more than Co's anyway. |

I talked with him at length not too long ago and seen his work - pretty good stuff. Their web site says they clear coat. I am thinking about having them do some custom paint on some of my E30 M3 wheels.

^That is who we use as well but I have not gotten an answer on pricing or availability yet so I am going to assume it's the same $120/wheel.

^ K. Thanks. I am going to contact them via their online form and see what is up with pricing. At this point, it may just be easiest to get this done at Co's at the same time I take it to swap my winter tires. Maybe it would be easier to do with the tire off also, possibly resulting in them doing a better job? ;-)

Im going to use this stuff as my clear coat on my wheels. It will do exactly what I want it do and cost me far less.
http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-P...opti-coat-2-0/ Glad I found it.

This is who I use. I have used them twice now with great results. They come to your house, pick up your wheels, and bring them back a few days later.
