M-Sport??

Hey guys I\'m checking out cars. This doesn\'t look like M-sport tho...can you guys confirm?

http://carenthusiast.autotrader.ca/certified/BMW/2008-BMW-335i-30fc92f9404638d3005542107a44a639.htm

And is this a good deal?

Thx!

That's not M-Sport. It's just the OEM Aero Lip added on to the front bumper, and I'm pretty sure those are M3 rep sideskirts along with the 335is rear bumper/diffuser.

I don't know how much more expensive it is in CA on average, but $41k is a total rip-off for that car here in the states. I wouldn't trust that dealer just for the sole reason they're saying it's an M-Sport when it's not.

Yea that's what I thought because I was pretty sure M-Sport doesn't have fogs. And it is quite a bit for Gavin so many km, but it was loaded. I'll go check it out anyways, but I doubt I'll bite for this.

MSport does have fog lights... but that is not an MSport, unless it was in a bad accident and they had to replace all the MSport parts or it got robbed.

again, that is not M Sport, it's the aero body kit. and M Sport does have fogs.
Here is a pic of my car with M Sport (the only thing I edited were the headlamp washers and parking sensors (I just deleted them)):

Not only is it not M-Sport on the outside but the inside as well. Then you get this little doozer

$5,000 DOWN, $289 BI-WEEKLY/ 72 MONTH, TAXES INCL NO HIDDEN CHARGE, PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE TAXES

to add, not a good deal. I paid the same for a 2009 335xi coupe with 27,000km, fully loaded including m-sport and CPO warranty until later 2015.

Here are the simple steps you can take to make sure you get a good deal (which means different meaning to different ppl)!

1) Research on Autotrader and through all BMW dealers in your area (and around) to get a gauge of price you will pay for a e92 335i convertible. Personally, I feel that you can pick up a same or better at BMW dealer in southern Ontario for less than that with CPO.

2) Try to stay away from a QC car and an off Lease vehicle (you can find gems in both of these categories but not that easily).

3) Ensure you have carproof and carfax for the vehicle

Alternatives:

1) If you have cash go to the good ol US of A and pick one up from there. I believe you will pay HST + 15% duty as its built outside of NAFTA triangle

2) If you own a business you can lease a new one (I hear from my sales guy that 2011's sitting on the lots are slow in moving partially because of F30 and economy)

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the help guys, and yes I've been doing extensive research on different available cars. It is fully loaded, but has to many km. I found a much better deal at BMW autohaus(steeles) w/ sport, navi, 19" wheels and 30k km with CPO until aug 2014. I'll probably pursue that one and anything else that may come up. It's going for $45k but it's a safer bet and I can talk em down.

I dealt with autohaus at end of the month (December eapecially) and got a fantastic bargain. Almost 4k lower than asking price. Good luck! But you are shopping at a great time when it's upcoming year end economy is a bit gloomy F30 is around the corner! Having said that you should be able to get a deal from them

If you could wait until January, that would be even better. You would definitely be able to bargain a little more since it's the start of the new year.

Ok i need some serious clarification!!
I can't search this so I'm sorry to bother everyone again. Basically that car I posted w/ MSport apparently is MSport from factory.

So apparently it's in the build sheet and it's a buy straight from BMW Canada .finance

Now I'm just confused, can someone help!? It doesn't look like an MSport!

The steering wheel is from a regular sport car, it's not the m-sport wheel...

Well who cares about the steering wheel lol, I care about the body and suspension.

I actually just spoke to him for more info. and he mentioned it's sport package and the owner grabbed the BMW MSport bumpers from the coupe and put it on the cabrio. Apparently these cars in vert. Config didn't come with MSport, only sedans and coupes I'm assuming.
This actually makes more sense now.

Does that sound about right?

This is the BMW aero kit, not msport. Still better than stock. The sideskirts are stock though (because aero kit does not come with new sideskirts)

He's lying. Of course there are msport convertibles available. In fact, BMW did its official photoshoot of the msport kit with a convertible E93...

Aerokit:

M Sport:

For the record, steering wheel makes all the difference. The stock sport wheel SUCKS compared to msport and particularly, the M3.

Are these U.S. builds only? I'll have to confirm with the autohaus manager when I go see his vehicle.

Now, whether that is or isn't. Given the current Canadian market for these cars, always in the $40k's....that car is fully loaded otherwise. Would it be worth if if I could talk him down to $35k.

It doesn't have CPO...is this a big worry for me at 63k km? Maintenance is usually an arm and leg for these cars no? Or should I be okay if I can DIY and find an Indy shop?

Get the last 7 of the vin and call BMW Toronto parts or maranello BMW and ask them to fax you the option sheet for both cars. Post it here and someone can tell you the truth. If car has m sport it will appear in the option sheet. Do that for any BMW u are looking at.

You can definately get the price down because I have in the past. However I would be a bit wary of a BMW dealer not offering the car as cpo'd. You can always ask to throw that in the deal.

Well he's not an actual BMW dealer. He buys exotics and luxury cars and resells. He's a friend to a friend of mine so I do trust that he will take care of me. He bought the car off BMW Canada Finance, and mentioned CPO might cost approx. $3000.

Now before all of you jump and wale on me lol...I'll be going to autohaus Saturday so I'll get all the info then.

I'm not too concerned with bumpers being MSport or not cuz I figured I'd be modding the car to my liking anyways. All I want is a good deal with a loaded 335 and no issues.
