And even if you get it thru Torrent you still have to get the enabling codes somehow, and they are between $100 and $380. And you cannot get those thru Torrent. |

Why pay more money to just get a code! It's like they just want money for every little adds on.

It is the way in which BMW gets you to pay for the update - which costs money (not as much as they charge but that is another issue) vs "stealing" their intellictual property which is what is happening regularly (and advertized on this board/thread).
May not like it but BMW and most that I know of makes doesn't provide free map updates.

$465
I called my local BMW dealership to find out how much is going to cost me to update my 2011 nav. I was told 465 and that's not including the work. WTF

Get the 2012 Discs from the torrent or cheap from ticher or your dealer. For the FSC code look for a thread here that mentions fscmap.com. I used ******* to get my FSC code who is mentioned in that thread, which worked 100% or you can try getting it from fscmap.com. It will cost you less than a quarter of the cost you mentioned above.

The codes are different for each car. They are tied to your vin number.

What is the benefit of the updates?
Are there any known actual update benefits? Or is this simply needing the latest thing?
What would be different on my nav after this update? |
