Well, I removed the small thin CF piece and it made a huge difference! Looks a lot better and it would cut down the cost and lead time by quite a bit (unless all fins are made of CF too).

Yup. There are two screws and one bolt/nut. The screws go on each side and the bolt is in the middle. The screws really hold it together - the bolt's really there just to align it for an easy install and to act as a brace as well. The bolt doesn't need to be tightened. This makes it easier for the install.
The screws go into the two metal hangers that drop down from the frame. On the m-tech bumpers, these hangers are near the sides of the diffuser and the diffuser is screwed onto them. On non-mtech, your rear bumper is screwed onto these hangers. So all you need to do is remove the OEM screws and replace them with longer screws that I'll supply (same diameter and threading, just 1" instead of 3/4"). For fitment tweaking, all the fins are attached using a bolt/nut and slot connection. So you can loosen the bolts and adjust the fins if it's not sitting perfectly straight. I found that even the diffusers have variances in the curvature so this should get around fitment and alignment issues. It allows you to pull the fins in towards the diffuser as well to minimize the gap (@project335i, this is what I did after removing the CF piece - I just adjusted the bolts that hold down the fit since I realized when I installed it I didn't do such a good job in terms of tweaking it to fit) |

X1 on pricing
And not sure if I missed it but any plans for a diffuser that works with an e92? |

Can't give a firm number on pricing yet but I'm aiming for $200 + shipping or lower (likely a bit lower now since there won't be the CF piece anymore which is a good portion of that).
For the full CF, it'll look the same except the four fins are in CF. CF is diagonal weave with clear coat on top (I'll post a pic later but it's the exact match to my CF m-tech diffuser). There will be discounts for larger orders since shipping costs can be reduced. If I can find savings in shipping, I'll basically pass it onto the forum members. The mark up won't be crazy high like other parts since there is no middle-man in this. I can bring it even lower by having it sold as a "some assembly required" (which is really easy to do - will make shipping to the end buyer much cheaper too since I can package it in a smaller package). I'm going to approach this from a buyer's point of view since I've bought stuff before a few times where the brokerage and shipping fees pretty much are 100% the cost of the item itself...(and then you feel a little ripped off). Can't release pricing on the forums yet until I become a Sponsor. I'll probably create a new account as well just for that so I'll start a new thread when that happens. Anyone in the GTA can feel free to PM me and drop by to take a look and verify the fitment and build themselves. So far it fits E90 with M-Tech but it's been designed for E92 as well as non-LCI AND non-Mtech E90 and E92. The only difference between m-tech and non-mtech are the fins itself. The m-tech ones ride up so it matches the vertical curvature of the m-tech diffuser and the non-m-tech one just hangs out/down (though I could try mounting the m-tech version on non-mtech and see how it looks - might look ok actually). If you want to see if it fits your E92, drop by and I'll take it off my car and try to fit it on your E92. If it doesn't fit, I'll drill the holes right there with a cordless drill and then so I know exactly what changes to make for the production - then it'll fit for sure. |

Update on this: I have a price worked out. I think a lot of people will be pleased with it. Unfortunately, I don't want to get in trouble with the forums so I'm not going to post it just yet until I get my sponsorship (which will happen as soon as I get the website ready so I can start online sales). Next few weeks will be testing it on various cars to make sure it fits well.
PM me if you want to meet up to see it and get a test fitment as well. |

Updated with some new photos from my last photo shoot. There was some issues getting the CF material and I changed the method for making the CF.
Been getting some good comments from other car enthusiasts (like Subaru and Mercedes) and so I'm working on something for other cars too, not just E90's. Might have an F30 version soon. But first...working on the website and then getting my Vendor status once the e-commerce website is up. I already have in stock the aluminum version here in Toronto since I made an order for it already. The only CF version is currently on my car. |

do you think this can fit regular 128i without the msport/135i rear

I think it will be pricy if they make it for the 335i.
you need the m-sport rear bumper to install the diffuser. |

Andy can confirm but based on previous discussions I've had with him and if you read through the history of this thread it is meant to compliment mtech diffusers if you have one but can also be installed if you don't have one as it is really the fins being added.

As for the diffuser, it currently is on a 335 but it either uses the existing m-tech or non-mtech bumper. It's just the fins below and I'm making the baseplate and fin configuration to fit various models/years (and I'm working on other car models too). Actually I have the aluminum version in stock already, just want to get the website up before I get my Vendor Status on E90post and start the advertising. I expect it'll be a bit slow for a bit since winter's coming so I'm using the time to get my website going and maybe even start developing it for other vehicles (I've already had a request to do it for the Mercedes E63 and Subaru WRX. Already took measurements for the new F30 335 and I can probably make one for the 128. Will need to take measurements from your car since I'll just consider "custom designs" as the R&D phase before mass production) |

Yeah I know all about the IP thing, I've been working in the R&D industry for a long time. If people want to copy your design, they'll find a way to do it. IP is only as good as the money you're willing to spend on lawyers to protect it.
