you might be right. I remember in his thread he said he was going to buy the downpipe fix after another member said he was using it with success. I will have to check again. then again djapex had another issue that was causing his car to run rich. I don't know if he actually pulled the code from his car.

I ignored his comment because he has the n53 euro motor and this doesnt apply to the US spec cars. Also, if he wants to ship me a set of the n53 manifolds Ill pay shipping, cut the cats out and do a dyno comparison.

I already answered the same question the first time you asked. You get what you pay for...
OBX requires you to cut a chunk out of the motor mount and the welds aren't that great of a quality. If you're unable to afford a set of proper headers, your best option is to cut out the cats on the OEM manifolds and weld in pipe in its place.

Shape of the pipes. (Later version N52 has the same manifold as N53).

Later version of N52 has the same manifold as N53. There was a thread by someone who is racing 328i and he is using OEM catless manifold. BTW: the OEM manifold picture is from Penske parts catalog (N52).

I remember the thread, but I cant find it. What I did find was a 328i race car using supersprint headers. You're going to have to show me the matching part numbers...Im not finding it. The pic you used is a generic one from BMW. Check realoem and you'll see it is reused on every n51/2/3 diagram euro or us spec...even on my 9/05 325i which I know doesnt have that manifold. euro 325i n53 http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...41&hg=18&fg=10 us spec cars 325i http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...87&hg=18&fg=10 330i http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...87&hg=18&fg=10 328i (I see the part number change, but dont see any difference while googling it.) http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...18&fg=10&hl=26 Even Penske parts reuses the image... http://www.penskeparts.com/DiagramsB...%0A18407597868

I have not seen a north american car with collectors like the one on the left in the pic. Anywhoo. No one has dyno'd these mmw headers yet. I don't think I have seen a dyno of supersprint before either. All I have seen is dimsums dyno of the primary delete with 15whp gain. I just bought a stock manifold and it is en route to me from NY. Once I get it I will delete the cats and dyno. I already have a baseline so I think it will be a good reference. Johnny, Your headers look mig welded, are they? |

Did you cap off the hole or leave the sensor in the manifold?

I doubt this is true, Some one needs to take a peek at a dealership of 2012 128i or smth.(I did, but I forgot what I saw. :S)
My 2008 128i has the flat simple manifold

Maybe not. My friend from Halifax, NS has 2012 128i and he told me that he has the same exhaust manifold as on my N53.
